if miles is gone, than the realism that we need a coach, and soon has got to be our #1 priority. let me ask this. IF Tommy Tubberville is talking to R-Kansas (which is rumored), then why would he not also be talking to LSU? I think he is a more likely candidate for LSU to hire than RR,Spurrier or Saban. I do not know IF he is the right coach for LSU, but his track record for building a program, keeping it very vital, winning, and staying at a job is there. How about TT and Muschamp in a deal together and we keep Crwton? Any interest in that scenario? I think Auburn has been lacking in some offensive ingenuity for years, keep Crowton and it looks pretty good to me.

Bama is a great case study in making your point. The delusional Gump fans are rabid on this point. They so badly have to have Bear type of domination that they simply look at LSU's success the past 3 years to be purely the Saban factor. Then Saban loses his last 4 games to finish 6-6 and has a mini melt down. This puts cracks in the foundation Bama's delusional image of the great Saban. Hype is toxic when compared to actual results. Saban or any top winning coach of today can win big at LSU because of where LSU is geographically. Winning at Alabama is a whole different story. CLM needs to be given the credit he deserves. I promise you Skip has no problem with finding a coach at LSU. Which is just the opposite problem Alabama has in finding a coach.

Yes, but I dont think you have a say in the matter. If Saban wants to come back, and he screws over Bama in the process I'd love it. So Saban is a jerk, but he's a good coach, I dont care about his ego and his personality because I wont be spending any personal time with him.

The only problem with using recruiting ratings is that they are not necessarily good gauges. How many good college football players are a bust in the NFL? I think recruiting stars are not even 50% of the formula. Developing kids in a system as well as bringing team chemistry has more weight than taking a rivals list and saying this kid is good or not. Part of that is the football program as a whole and the other is the ability of the head coach bringing together a staff that can develop the kids as well as create chemistry. With 18-20 year olds, it is all about creating a environment for them to flourish in. I would have to say that the LSU environment is more attractive to Southern kids while maybe kids from the Midwest would be attracted to Michigan.

Look at Missouri, West Virginia, Kansas, and say Virginia Tech. How many 4 and 5 star kids do they have? It is the "system" and the coach. And the "system" was already here before Miles got here. And so are we saying that a 5 star kid from Louisiana is the same as a 5 star kid from the Midwest? Hmmm...

Yes, Saban got the system working and Miles has improved it. The reverse is true at Bama. Now Bama has the coach that righted the ship at LSU. However, Bama is not LSU. It will be a much harder ship to right which is why no one has wanted to coach there unless they get paid more than anywhere else. It's now important to bring in our next coach which will improve on what Miles as contributed to LSU's success. It's all about LSU not an individual.

Does anyone think that Saban would dare put himself before Bama? I can't believe anyone can even think that Saban would ever put himself first. The man is a rock of commitment in keeping his word. He would never, ever break his contract with Bama. After all, his signature is on the contract.

You are letting your opinions overweigh the facts of the matter.

Little Nicky knows he screwed up leaving LSU, that is pretty clear. Let's not forget his "LSU friends" had a sleepover at his house the weekend we played Bama. He still has some big money supporters here that would love to have him back, and I don't doubt there has been some conversation about it.

If he knew a year ago that Miles would be leaving LSU this year, he would have coached Miami another year thinking he could come back to LSU now. And I don't think many would have a problem if that's how it went down.

But it didn't happen that way and he knows he is stuck at Bama for now. Nobody, including recruits, could trust anything he said if he bailed on Bama after one year. He would be unmercifully crucified, and rightfully so. It would not be good for him or LSU.

It ain't gonna happen this year, no matter how much he and some LSU supporters want it to happen. The timing is just wrong.
