They lost to the NCs already, we already know they aren’t NC worthy. ND got to prove it on the field. Opinions are flawed as shit; my opinion is you could have the top 4 SEC teams duke it out and make a strong case they are “the best”. That wouldn’t be best for the sport though.
I believe Georgia lost that game more than bama won it and are certainly one of the 4 best teams your eyes don’t lie
And yet if it had been Notre Dame instead of Georgia the game wouldn't have been close enough to even matter.
the fact is it is unfair at 4 teams if you want to have conferences not play at same level UCF as example then think they deserve a shot because they go undefeated and a team like Notre Dame not have to play again in a conference championship. What if Georgia didn't have to play in one and they only had LSU AS A LOSS.if their are just going to be 4 then it has to be fair for everyone and ND doesn't get special treatment . To me 8 teams and 1 extra game week isn't going to hurt anything. And then a UCF that goes undefeated can at least get a chance to prove it against the top competition and not just one game.
Hold on to that thought, we didn't win yet.You do realize they beat Auburn last year, who beat Bama... Defintitely agree. With 8 teams we should at least be able to get all the ones with any argument, I'd hope. BUT if we go that route I'd like to see us do away with Conference Championships OR at least knock a game of the schedule. Getting to be too many games for the best teams and increases likelihood of injuries.
At the FCS level and below the teams that reach the championship game have been playing 15 games for years.
