right, i understand that i just dont care. i care that you guys get cheap gas like you care that i dont have a backyard. we have made choices.
No, I said the government's role is to protect consumers from run away speculators and price gouging. Michelle Bachmann couldn't change the price of gasoline if she were Albus Dumbledore. She is a right wing lunatic that was sent here to destroy the world.
i am sorry, but we can all see that what you are saying is totally contradictory. you have said before that the reason things are too expensive, including oil, is speculation and gouging. you want prices to be fair and you want to be protected from this. this is a very stupid and tremendously destructive opinion. and now that bachmann is coming along saying EXACTLY what you want! anda, again, the government's role is not to protect you from prices. and again, i want you to try and think hard about this one. price gouging is a false concept. you are always free to not purchase something! you are NOT ENTITLED to things at whatever price YOU want. if you came over to my house and wanted to buy my guitar, and i said you cant have t because i love it and i have had it for 15 years, and you said "i want it, and it is worth no more than $2000", but i told you i reall ylike iot and it is mine and i wouldnt sell it to you for less than 200 grand, because it is mine and i get to determine selling prices for MY items, would you call that gouging? you need to understand that you simply dont own everything? i mean it seems really simple. people offer you things, its very nice of them to offer to exchange their items for your items. you are not required to buy their items. and again, i cnnot stress this enough, you own your items, and they own their items. you dont seem to get this. so they set the prices for their items. and you set the prices for your items? do you go on ebay and tell the other bidders to cut it out when they are wiling to pay more than you and the prices are high and you cant afford something? id the market commands a better price, the seller would be an irrational idiot to not ask for the the better price. this is not "gouging". it is called "FREEDOM". cant you do something for yourself? cant you reduce the amount of oil you need if you cant afford it? cant you live within your means? why would you force the government to bully price controls on others when they own things you want? why so goddamn selfish? /rant
