The numbers are all nice and everything, but what is most important, obviously, is that he is a Tiger, not so much what his final rank is. Clearly, he is a stud, and is why CMichael has not been offered. I still feel you cannot have too many studs in the backfield, though. I personally doubt TRichardson changes from ALA to us.
Needs a little over 400 yards to break the LA rushing record. He is #3 in country in total rushing yards.
True, but you can pretty much say that about all great RBs coming out of HS. Emmitt Smith had crazy numbers coming out of HS, I think a national record of something like 10-12,000 yards over his HS career, and often did not play full games. Those are football equivalent Pistol Pete type crazy numbers.
At MaxPreps.com, the anchor box at the bottom of all their pages on high school football shows several categories -- including "Blue Chip Athletes," which is a list of ten players that includes Michael Ford (as well as Shepard). Also, if you look under the stats for Fall 08-09, it shows that Michael Ford is #5 in the nation with 2,654 yards. They have Trent Richardson at #52 in the nation with 2,090 yards (a day or two ago, when I checked it, Trent Richardson was at around #43). Granted, MaxPreps doesn't list every player in the nation, probably not even close. From what I've seen, MaxPreps is just a place for coaches to list the stats of their players--but a lot of coaches decide not to do so. For example, look at LSU redshirt freshman RB Stevan Ridley. When he was a senior in high school, he rushed for 3,089 yards according to his LSU bio page, and 3,086 yards according to his Rivals.com profile. Yet, Ridley's stats were not listed with MaxPreps, so he didn't appear on the list of their national rushing leaders in Fall 06-07 (he would have been #3 in the nation).
Leesville vs. Zachary in playoffs. Watching Michael Ford on Cox Sports. @ half Zach 7 Wampuscats 6. Ford is strong, elusive and follows his blocks, runs well between the tackles. Appears to be a back that builds steam as the game progresses. Interviewed the Leesville principal at half time. Nothing but good things to say about Ford, qualitity individual and student. QB for Leesville committed to AuBurn.
Ford just fumbled in the redzone for Leesville.I have to say I really thought he would've had a bigger game so far Zachary defense is really containing him I have to give them their props because it's nice to see a local school holding their own. Question...If Zachary would win and Bastrop wins would Bastrop come to Zachary?
