He was reporting the time from the N.O. Under Armour Combine this past weekend. He actually ran the 4.69 40 twice and had slow starts on both of them. It was also a slow surface.

    Ran a 4.4 40 recently.

    Speed question answered.

I saw that on another board yesterday, but I couldn't verify it so I didn't post it. Can you verify the source? Was it Sonny, or were you at the camp?

I've never had doubts about this kid, aslong as he stays healthy his senior year, he's gonna prove a lot of people (mike s) wrong.

By the weight he is pushing I think he is strong as will as fast. But the gawdy weight lifting numbers mean more than that to me. It gives us a little indication that the kid is willing to work hard to achieve what he wants. I think more emphasis should be put on character and hard work in recruiting, especially when kids are very close talent wise.

Does Ford remind anybody of Emmitt Smith?

Mike has apparently reversed his previous position on Ford - most likely due to the pressure of subscribers strongly disagreeing with him. He now has Ford ranked 4th in the state ranking.

Emmitt ran in a tucked position with vision and balance. He set up his blocks and picked holes extremely well. He made the most out of his talent because he was not fast. I would have liked to know what Emmitt's 40 time was. It had to be very slow. He was a very tough player and could block and catch, making him a complete back. However, he had a great offensive line and ran behind some all pros, along with a great blocking fullback. Without his great line in Dallas and balanced passing attack I don't think he would have as many records in the pros. Ford is about the same height and weight as Emmitt, but much faster.

    Re: Micheal Ford committs

I'm just realizing the title of this thread is incorrectly spelled. It isn't a big deal and I am sure I may screw up a few words in this post, but it struck me as funny because it is Michael, not Micheal, which is pronounced Michelle--like a girl's name. Since we are recruiting a Christine I actually double checked that Ford did spell his name the normal way. Heh, you never know what to expect anymore! That being said I am still pulling for Barkevious and Ray Ray to be tigers. I love those names!!
