I think Keiland is our most consistent yard gaining back..our best back if you will, but no doubt in that 1 game Murphy looked like the best runner. He runs very hard, fast..and is wiry(sp?)...tough to bring down and control, keeps his legs pumping and has that erractic/spastic type body movement that is hard to subdue (think cadillac/irons/peterson with their wiry slashing runs). He can also run in between the tackles because he can slip through very small holes (one hole he went through was super slim and turned a no gainer into 5 yards).
Nobody is saying that he is better than what we have. But, he is a junior this year. Which means when he is a freshman than our backs right now will be SR. and JR. so we need to keep our stable of backs full. And he will be the number 1 back in the state next year. imo So, why not go after him?
Obviously I realized all that, and think we should sign him, but is hype is unwarranted to me. He will be good, but is not a high 5* imo.
unwarranted? have you seen him play or just film. Being in the Leesville area (Ft. Polk) and coaching a few of the football players in summer basketball, including this years starting QB. I have seen him play over the past two years and he is a legit 5* rb. Like i said before there is alot riding on this kid, he does everything for his team, punt, kicks, returns kicks, and is supposed to be the star RB. Every coach that plays against him knows he is getting the ball and yet he still puts up huge numbers. IMO he will be the number 1 rated running back in LA, and possibly top 5 in the nation.
Both. I am not saying he is a bad back, as a matter of fact he is very good. But a lot of people think he is the best back in a long time and I disagree. 5*s recently- well, hes not a Spiller, McFadden, Bush type. Just a solid 4 star. No complaints, and Ill be happy to have him. :thumb:
