I guess the big question is why didn't Clayton's game translate ? He had a good rookie season. We know he had injuries in at least the next two seasons if memory serves me correctly. I don't have the answer b/c I've never studied the issue. Did the money get to him ? Is he just not that good ? Was there bad chemistry as he apparently thinks there was ? Why, why why ? I guess if he picks up the pieces now and returns to form, some of the questions will be answered.
I'd guess by the fur coat pictures that the money and lifestyle got to him a bit. It's somewhat surprising because the kid was known as a high character kid and even was basically the "team chaplain". Football wise, the kid struggles to run a 4.6 in the 40. He's no #1 receiver, especially if he's dropping as many balls as he has beenj.
Came into the league overrated because he never had 1st round speed. Suffered several injuries early and never got rolling. He never seemed to let the lifestyle and money get to him no matter what it looks like in a few pics. His attitude and comments towards Gruden may have much to do about his frustration with the direction his career has taken. Also Gruden is an arrogant prick I can see how Clayton would dislike him.
