Reed = Disappointment minus the huge for me
Agree on Clayton he could've at least cracked on defenders and continued the LSU WRs know how to block tradition or something.

Have you ever watched Mark Roman play? He's terrible. There's a reason why he has started on so many bad defenses with 3 different teams.

As far as Reed is concerned... we all saw him with 1,700 yards in one season, setting records against SEC defenses, while getting open any time he wanted, and thought he would be a solid NFL WR that could average at least 1,000 yards a season. The Bills did too, which is why they drafted him in the 2nd round. He hasn't even had more than 597 yards in a season.

    Bust/Huge disappointment.

Going off of memory here, but wasn't he kinda on the upswing when he completely destoryed both knees on that sh!tty turf at Philly's old stadium?

maybe I don't consider him a bust since I never had huge expectations for him to begin with.

i think he's too small and too slow to be a star at wideout in the nfl.
he's good enough to get playing time, which is about what I expected, but not a whole lot more than that.

Devery doube clutched just about every good pass thrown his way at LSU too. At the time I brushed it off as him adjusting from RB to WR (didn't Redd do that too?).
But he can make all the difficult catches out there. It's them passes that hit him in the numbers he struggles with.

    '88 - 15 rec 220 yds
    '89 - 26 rec 397
    '90 - 39 rec 572
    '91 - 61 rec 945
    '92 - 54 rec 734
    '93 - 12 rec 132

Took him 4 years to get to that upswing. If Meachem takes that long, we will be ticked.

I don't think he is great, but you are missing the point. Roman was a second round pick that has started for the last 6 years for 3 different teams. Averaged over 50 tackles a year. Thats pretty good really. A good value on the production for a 2nd rounder.

Maybe we should label the pick by Buffalo to get Reed that high in the draft (an early 2nd) a dumb move.

    How about that?

    Wendell Davis through 5 seasons:
    180 catches, 2648 yards

    Chris Carter through 5 seasons:
    188 catches, 2825 yds

If Meachum has a career like Chris Carter's, Saints fans will cream their pants.

50 tackles means nothing when you are getting burned, not intercepting passes, and missing assignments. Heck, even Jason David averages about 50 tackles a season.

A lot of those tackles were Harry Coleman or Jason Davis type of tackles. He got beat or the running back ran into the secondary.
