I graduated from high school with 82 people. My sophomore's 5th grade class that graduated from elementary had over 120 kids. The schools are huge up here, but the kids seem to take it in stride. The key is to find a niche. As long as you have a group of friends, you are fine.
I was born in Texas, just across the Sabine river. When I joined the Air Force in 1966, I spent the first 2 & 1/2 years in the Texas panhandle. It was a relief to go to Nam to get away from dust storms and tumbleweeds.
I was at Clinton Sherman AFB in OK in 1965 then to Elmendorf AFB AK then Tau Hoa AFB in Vietnam 1967. Western OK not at all better than the panhandle of Texas. Thank you for your service COTiger
And thank you for your service as well. Where was Tau Hoa? I was stationed at Bien Hoa, north of Saigon.
They had a meningitis outbreak at Lackland in 1966. I wen thru basic & tech school at Amarillo AFB. My first assignment was Reese AFB 60 miles south of Amarillo.
You mean the Thud, lol yes they were not our finest aircraft. The F4 was a good aircraft. I was more in SAC during my tour with B52s at Clinton Sherman and only spent 6 months TDY in Tuy Hoa. Finished back in Elmendorf.
