who you callin old and just cause I am grumpy and fart a lot doesn't make me not fun to be around BTW I remember when wingman disappeared he was a good dude Hello everyone sorry been away for awhile.
Stanford.....lol. I predict no more than 5 or 6 wins and a bowl game highly unlikely at this point. Things are good. Just biding my time until I can get the hell out of this state.
Me too VBALL Looking to retire back in Louisiana in about 7 years Me and the wife wernt doing anything last year LSU had already played and we went to see Stanford USC game. Really enjoyed it and got to talking to some USC people in front of us. I really wish LSU would schedule a USC, UCLA, Stanford or Cal home and home. The only time on the west coast since I have been in San Fran area was when they played Washington and I was going. Then I realized it was the weekend of my parents 50th anniversary and we were throwing a big party for them in Louisiana. Just my luck.
You got your wish! LSU @ UCLA in 2021. http://www.espn.com/college-footbal...ers-ucla-bruins-announce-series-starting-2021
used to be here a lot. .Started in 2003 and was regular. To be honest after 2011 it just got too hard to stay positive. I know a lot of people have given up on Miles and I know he is a hard headed man but if you can step back and look at the whole picture this has been a great ride and he didn't deserve what he got from LSU last year. If LSU wants to get rid of him so bad why did they extend him. He hasn't changed. It is LSU fans expectations that have changed. We go into seasons expecting NC now. When I started being an LSU fan in 1964 at age 4 it was about the experience. Laying on floor listening to John Ferguson with my Dad and Brother. I loved Charley Mac and he didn't win a NC. It was about the band and seeing the team come on the field and the sound of the fans and hearing the fight song.. Feeling like you belonged to something bigger than yourself. On the odd occasion where as a family we would have the privilege to see 1 game in Tiger Stadium. It didn't matter who it was. Tiger Stadium is hallowed ground to me . It was a different time I guess and people who get to go to the games don't realize how special a place it is. Or can be if you look for the right things. And do you think when we could get from north La. down to the game we left early. That didn't happen no matter the traffic or weather or win or losing. We always stayed to the end no matter the score. That is LSU football to me . My dad was a high school football coach and me and my brother were practically raised by a football field as our babysitter. We never missed one of his games. I worked my way through college as a football manager and would have been a coach but was pushed away from it by my parents . That's another story . I want to win as much as anyone and I see Les Miles issues and knowing football it is very frustrating to see the teams underperform based on the talent they have. But Les Miles has done an amazing job at LSU and has been a little unlucky that a Coach ended up at Bama that would slit his mothers throat to win a football game. And has the most corrupt program in the history of college football. I still live and die LSU and always will. Win at all costs. Is it worth it.
You greatly misunderstand what LSU fans expect. Yes they want a national championship like every other sports fan on the planet, but what they expect is an offense that doesn't make you want to throw up every time you see it. The bar has been set EXTREMELY low, yet Miles has stuffed greatly to meet even the lowest offensive expectations. His inability to even see that there is a problem and his refusal to try anything new or different baffle football fans and pundits across the globe! Look no further than the current situation at QB. Miles was a hair away from getting fired last season, was told he had to make changes on offense yet marched out the SOS to start the season. When even his biggest fans started calling for his head after game one he still marched out Harris and the SOS. Knowing that he could now be just hours from being run out of town he inserts Etling and BOOM! A guy that hadn't played in almost 2 years brings instant offense an looks like a real QB. Is anyone in their right mind going to say that Harris actually looked better than Etling in the fall? Harris doesn't even understand the most basic aspects of playing the position. He can't throw a 5 yard pass to a RB. No way in hell he looked anywhere near as capable as Etling, yet doofus refused to bench his duel threat\no threat QB. Miles situation has nothing to do with fan expectations and everything to do with his hard empty head!
Ahh the nostalgia angle. The old pull on the heart strings because we don't have a QB nor any clue how to use one if we did defense.
Yeah you had me til the other team cheats and should we win at all costs. This is nothing to do with any of that but it's a nice distraction to avoid the obvious. Les is his own worst enemy and has no one to blame but himself. He can save his job simply by letting etling use half of cams playbook bc the admins are looking for a reason to keep him now they blew their chance to run him out. Other than that good comments and this should be in my wine and cheese thread bc it touches on the same subjects.
I said way back in 2008 that the Tiger fan base will not be able to assume the fetal football position after the 07 championship and second natty in 5 years. It just changes a Tiger inside and really messes with expectations. I know it's difficult for Cajuns to emotionally reconcile, but I was right back then and it's just as much the honest truth today. When it comes to expectations, LSU has become Alabama. Again, Welcome to the dark-side.
