I hear that. My daughter (our only child) is just starting her junior year at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. She lives on campus but is only about a half hour from home. She's getting the full college experience, and we get to see her pretty often.
I'd say they are overrated at 8, which isn't to say they're not good. They are probably one of the 3 best defensive teams we'll face this year. But we have got to catch the ball better and our line has got to be more aggressive. Ensminger took his foot off the gas way too early. And our DBs have to do a better job when the ball is in the air. We had two picks, but easily could have had 4 or 5. The LBs have to play more under control; got into the backfield in an instant and then whiffed on the QB or ball carrier about 5 times. All of that can be corrected. I like that, after having to waste all 3 of our 1st half time outs in the 1st 12 minutes, we had 0 play clock or substitution issues in the 2nd half. Correctable errors.
I liked the play calling for the most part, it was unpredictable. We threw out of run formation which is something we never did. I think JB did well with recognizing the defense and changing plays, he looked in command and definitely more between the ears than we are used to. We certainly can be good if this team grows where it needs, and gets those mistakes cleaned up.
I have two daughters. My senior is the older of the two, and she is a homebody. Apparently, she and several of her drill team friends are already planning to room together. She wants to be an elementary teacher and come back to teach in Plano ISD. My 8th grader wants to be a theatre technician (stage manager, set designer, sound/lighting). She wants to head to art school in NYC (Pratt in Brooklyn or Parson'sin Manhattan). So, I will possibly have to deal with one kiddo far away (provided she gets a huge scholarship.
Maybe it's just me but for 80% of the plays be it run or pass the blocking sucked. That has to be fixed
I worry about some of you. This is a big win for our program regardless. This was the number one issue. Killed execution on offense and is why we were 3 for 16 on 3rd down which is atrocious. Killed any flow but Burrow found a way to still keep his head in the game which isn't easy. His management in a shit show is most impressive. I'm excited.
