Doubt they will make it but it has all of a sudden become interesting. I thought for sure they would lose to Boston the other night, having to play on back to back nights with the Celtics having fresh(er). Probably the most impressive win in thier streak of 23 wins in a row. Now they have the Cavs, Pistons, Bobcats and Magic. Could lose one of these but not likely, so that would put them at 27 in a row. The 3 games that could end it would be @ the Bulls (game 28), @ Spurs (game 30) and vs the Knicks (game 31). Otherwise potentially winning the last 39 games of the regular season heading into 2014. This is the kind of basketball a lot of people probably envisioned when LeBron decided to "bring his talents down to South Beach".
Heat's 23-game win streak is 2nd best in history behind the 1971–72 Lakers (Jerry West/Wilt Chamberlain) compare to: 19 -- the best of the Shaq/Kobe-era Lakers (1999–00 season) 18 -- the best of the Michael Jordan-era Bulls (1995–96 season) 18 -- the best of the Wilt Chamberlain/Hal Greer-era 76ers (1965–66 and 1966–67) 18 -- the best of the Larry Bird/Kevin McHale/Robert Parish-era Celtics (1981–82), 17 -- the best of the Bill Russell/Bob Cousy-era Celtics (1959–60) 17 -- the best of the David Robinson-era Spurs (1995–96) 16 -- the best of the Magic Johnson/James Worthy-era Lakers (1990–91)
Heat were down by 27 points in the middle of the 3rd quarter to Cleveland tonight and came back and won. Unreal.
I fear the end is near. There's just too much pressure to continue the streak... Every game is a trap game. But I hope it ends next Friday @ the New Orleans Arena
Down 11 to Detroit, they roll in the 2nd half. It's like they are toying with these teams now. They don't play defense until the 2nd half and simply put the clamps on. 25 in a row and counting.
I hope they either beat the streak, or the Hornets end it. It would be really, really interesting to see the Heat head to the playoffs on a 39-game win streak. Really interesting...
I think they would lose the last game on purpose....plus they would be playing all their scrubs, although the opponent is weak, the scrubs could still win that game. So ultimately yes I believe they lose the last game on purpose.
something tells me the streak is ending tonight back to back game for the Heat with Orlando not having played since Friday
