Meyer called us out, and Spencer Tillman giving us love.

His theory goes out of the water when you look at the 07 game. We were down, what 17-7 at half? It sure was quiet and dishearteneing, but it also ended up being one of the best and loudest games in Tiger Stadium history.

I don't disagree with that assessment. On the other hand, show me the stadium that wouldn't clear out when you're down by three scores with a QB that has thrown a pick 6 in damn near every game and a defense that didn't know its rear end from a hole in the ground for the ENTIRE season. Add in the fact that the team is the defending national champion and it's like rubbing salt in the wound. If Florida were in that situation they'd clear out of the Swamp the same way. After all it only took them 2 seasons to run Zook out of town. I'm not excusing it (I was guilty of leaving the Troy game right after their first 3rd quarter TD), but it's ridiculous to think this is something only LSU fans do. This is a fan base that still packed Tiger Stadium every Saturday during the 80s for God's sake.

Maybe. Maybe not. I've been in a lot of stadiums (well, my definition of "a lot") where LSU was cruising to victory and the home crowd neither booed their own team nor cleared out with almost a full quarter of football left to play.

It's just a perception and an opinion. But I found last year's crowd to be more fickle than other crowds I've experienced.

Perhaps it has more to do with an unreasonably elevated set of expectations (2 MNC in 6 years can do that for a fan base.)

I think last year and LSU in particular was unique in that most felt that the losses were due to LSU playing very poorly rather than being beaten by "better" teams.

Regardless, it was/is still dumb for any coach to call out your opponent and fans. I hope LSU fans remember his words come game time.

i think fla was the only team that would have beat us no matter how we played last year. they were on. (not that we didn't make mistakes, we did)

all the other losses, we didn't help our own cause.

yep. i hate to say it but going to LSU games when we sucked were almost more fun than going to games now. i mean, we went to the game because it was LSU, and because we knew that if LSU could pull an upset it would be amazing. now people expect to see 45-0 LSU blowouts. lot's of "bandwagoners," but that comes with the success.

i also slightly disagree with the thought that TS is only great at night. that seems like a copout to me. if you don't want to go to a day game, stay home so that someone who just wants to root for the Tigers can.

Yeah, I know people prefer night games but another part of being a successful program is having many more of your games televised (especially with the SEC deal), and that means day games, and that's something they need to get used to.

why do some of you guys post provocative, tasteless pictures (like your glitter-butt picture) with your post? I'm a tiger fan and love to read the board, but find this offensive. Can you hold this for another kind of board?:yelwink2:

He's criticizing the fans here, not the Tigers. I guess it would be restroom material, rather than locker room.:angryfire
