Can we get a link to this interview? Did Urban Meyer really strongly imply that he was going to score at will against LSU? I find it hard to believe that this is the case. I bet he was asked a question like "Are you afraid of that loud, thunderous crowd noise down in Baton Rouge?" And so he responded like he did.

What would you have preferred he say... "Yeah, we're pretty terrified about going to Tiger Stadium this year. With LSU's improved offense and defense, combined with their incessantly loud crowd, it's unlikely that we'll get out of Baton Rouge with a Win."

 

he didn't say that he would score on LSU at will, he basically said if they can score on LSU early then tiger stadium would be a non factor, it wasn't a shot at the team, it was a shot at the fans, and the crowd, and the stadium. which is why this post was intended to get the fans hyped up and to not deflate if they go up early.
It has happened, unfortunately. Day crowd is alot different than the night crowd, which is something the university should be lobbying about, more conference night games when we are at home.

Screw the networks, Tiger Stadium at night is a tradition. And like someone earlier said, the last time Teblow came here, i believe he left crying like a little bitch.

I was going by the quote in the OP. Sounds like I misinterpreted the intent based on the other commentary.

Oh and since you asked, this is the way you handle the question: "Well (insert name), LSU is always a tough team to play on the road, but if we can execute our game plan in a hostile environment and play our style of football, then I'm confident in our team's chances." That's it, quick answer off the top of my head. No shot at the fans, no talk about "putting it to them early", standard coach-speak.

This won't be popular, and I agree that CUM is a pr!ck, but I was embarrassed a couple of times last season at how EARLY the stadium emptied and how MUCH booing of our own players was going on.

So the pr!ck, to some degree, has a point. Tiger stadium is a nightmare in a close game. But the crowd (at least last year) was fickle.
