I think CLM realized early on that we had this game totally under control and as is customary with him he wasn't going to run up the score by turning the dogs loose. Late in the 3rd and 4th quarters U-dub looked to be pretty much loading up against the run and still couldn't stop us. If we would have gone play action during that time there's no telling what the score would have been.
Mettenberger is still learning his pocket presence but it's been great having a quarterback who can check off to his alternate receivers and pump-fake the safeties into breaking stride.
I loved his confidence, if it weren't for the drops he almost has a perfect game......so nice to have a legit QB and no QB controversy. Love Shepard, such a great ambassador for LSU but damn he's gotta make that catch!
LOL LOL! Correct! During the game I posted on the thread that it had to be a joyous moment for the receivers to run their routes, turn--and actually see the football coming right at them--right where they planned, drilled for and had a want for....What Joy!
The Teilight Zone moment of the game, watching it on TV, was hearing the announcers say about UW: "They just have no answer for this LSU offense."
I think so too. Mettenberger is only going to get better and the receivers will find their rhythem with him.
