All the bitching in the world ain't gonna change what happened. I'm pretty sure we actually have all the bitching in the world in this very thread and I don't think the outcome of the game has changed. And yeah, it's easy for any imbecile to second guess the HC after the fact. Really no point in trying to make such an act seem so profound.
But, but... what if it turns out that ::gulp:: Mett sucks? I personally haven't put too much stock in this new QB, as we really haven't seen him under any pressure yet. Sure, we've seen (and heard) that he has a shoulder-mounted-football-canon (so did Jarrett Lee), but hopefully his aim is spot on when the pressure cooker is turned on.
In Jarrett Lee's defense, it really wasn't his fault, getting thrown to the wolves the way he did. That's the huge difference between him and Mettenberger, Mett has a full season of JC under his belt and some SEC play while Lee had zilch. We'll see in 3 months.
Mettenberger also didn't have the opportunity to get completely ruined by The Wizard, so there's also that.
Nobody and I mean nobody can suck as bad as JJ. IF, and that is a HUGE if, he does then we have to look at the coaching staff.
If I didnt care and have appreciation for LSU football I wouldnt give a s#!t what Miles does or has done or even didnt do. The title game happened and you're right it IS over. Nothing is going to change it. But it must be considered, when talking about what the offense will be like this season, that Miles is capable of doing what he did over the last four seasons with the QB position and he is capable of gameplanning like he did in the last game. He has also recruited as if he would intend to use multiple QBs. As many Lee haters were out there because of his track record for INTs. Its funny how no one wants to use the same method when considering Miles and his brain farts.
Oh believe me, there are plenty that do just that. It's just that many of us realize how ignorant it is to continually bash a head coach with such a stellar W-L record.
Bashing Les incessantly is stirring up trouble, yes. Especially if one rarely offers anything positive. It's a troll signature. But Les chose not to honestly answer a lot of questions after the BCS game debacle which hasn't let us put it behind us. There is no need to get beat everybody over the head with it, but as the season approaches and we discuss more football, people are going to continue to ask the questions. Many dyed-purple LSU fans like myself hold Les responsible for ruining The Perfect Season. We can't refuse to discuss it.
Jamarcus Russell was 10x worse as a pro than JJ ever was at LSU. In that particular case, character and maturity of the player came into play a hell of a lot more than the on-field ability of the coaches. These guys phucking BREATHE nothing but football, they do it for a living. They've done it their entire lives, which leads me to believe that they probably know more about it than a bunch of people bickering about it on an Internet discussion board. Red is correct. Miles never gave any straight answers for the loss, so in essence we never got any real closure for the ending to what would've been our perfect season. I think that's the real sting that still remains. On the other hand, Miles can win 5 more championships and people will still find reasons to bitch about him. Those people will also find themselves in the minority. Can't please everyone I guess.
