I would have put Lee in, if nothing else a change of pace. I would have put Mett in also it would have shocked Saban but I am not the coach. I would have thrown everything we had at bama that is what you have to do when you play them.

Well there's only one National Championship game a year but if there were two, yeah. It's like anything. Take killing a first deer, as an example. Killing others is still fun but nothing like the thrill of bagging your first.

Even though technically there's only one NC game, in reference to beating Bama, we'd already climbed that mountain. That is by NO MEANS saying we shouldn't have been/were fired up and wanting to do it again but rematches lack something. Wasn't the best Rocky the first? I liked when he kicked the Russian's ass a lot but that first one was the shyt.

Further, knowing how close both of us were (LSU/Bama) the kids had to have known it would be VERY hard to beat a team that close to us twice in one season. Add that to the equation. After Jefferson showed he'd brought to this game his inability to think on his feet, I'm sure there was a collective internal sigh. After the first few series I could feel it wasn't going to be our day ESPECIALLY if nothing changed.

Dam straight! If you keep doing what you did you have to figure you're going to keep gettin whatchu got.

I agree with this, but I may add one caveat. I'd say CLM plays "to the strengths of the personnel he decides to go with." There will be some on both sides of the fence but I've always been of the belief we should have had Mett as our starter last year. I base this purely on what he showed from the beginning of his college career at Georgia (was on pace to start ahead of Murray) and the JC season when he was lights out. It did not change my opinion in the least after hearing he knocked the crap out of a defensive player in some kind of confrontation between the two. I realize we're not talking MMA here, but for a qb to do that is fairly impressive.

I have never seen soo much stir over one game. My only conclusion to best suit this situation is to only believe that LSU fans are hell bent on making it to the national title game every year which is damn near impossible. You're playing in the toughest conference in the country and get beat up all year long which is very hard to stay fresh week after week and you have't to play the same team you beat earlier in the year in the title game. Alabama prepared for us like they did every opponent except this time they had a little more game film to study. Minus the turn overs and the great field position Alabama had in that game you would most likely had the same outcome of the first game. Some coaches make adjustments and some don't if Les believed in his gameplan and thought it worked the first time why change it? Nick Saban had tweaked his offensive scheme just a little bit but looking at the entire game could not go to his bread and butter which was the running game. LSU played a great game minus what the score board says. I believe Les did everything in his power to put his players in a position to win the game and had it not been for Les we wouldn't be talking about the 2011 title game because well we would not have been praticipating in it.

It's not stirring shit. It's presenting a different view on the topic. It's trying to explain myself for having the opinion I do, hoping that one time I explain, it may be understood or maybe open someone's mind to the point I am trying to make. I am not trying to lead a charge against Miles, I dont care how many love or hate Les. Nothing I say is going to have any baring on whether Miles stays or goes. And I have admitted that I don't even know who would be a capable replacement. But I refuse to overlook the guys boneheadedness just because he wins games.

With Mettenberger at the helm, LSU could very well have an opportunity to get back to the big game, at the very least compete for SEC championship. However, Les' track record with QB's has not been that great, and his lame brain tendencies could possibly prevent that from happening. Thus the reference of the last game.

Bullbutter. You were gone for I don't care how long, and not one person on this site was saying one damn thing negative about Les Miles, hell, nobody was even discussing the BCS championship game anymore. Everyone is looking FORWARD to the coming season. Along YOU come...negativity, negativity, negativity....as usual...you stirred the pot...and got people going...again.

Everyone's entitled to their difference of opinions, and I don't jump people for having a different one than me, nor do I think Les Miles is a God, but damn brah it's almost June, the game was in January, and you're still making the exact same argument you made then.

Give it a rest. We all know and saw the same game you saw. We saw the defense show up, but not the O. We saw bama prepared to win the game, and LSU wasn't. Les Miles didn't lose the game. Jordan Jefferson didn't lose the game. Football games are won and lost as a team.

Alabama WON the contest, they EARNED it, and you need to accept it. How many coaches have lost national championship games? How many have been fired or kept their jobs afterwards?

I swear sometimes I think you may be a Tiger hater trying to cause dissent on the site.

Well, that is just a lie. Maybe noone was saying anything bad about Miles about the hits were going on about JJ and that is why this thread got started in the first place.
