You know I think some of us tend to take this for granted some times. Never intentionally but I'm sure it happens. A few nights ago we watched a 300k house burn just two streets from us. I think they had a lot of family in from out of town and I'm sure all of their gifts were inside. Sad that it takes something like that to remind us that all of that "stuff" can be replaced, people cannot. Merry Christmas everyone hope you all are safe, well fed and healthy.
Mickey’s Christmas Carol taught me better. There have been people on this board; myself and @dachsie (i believe) lost loved ones in 2018, as I’m sure others have. I’m breathing, my daughter is healthy and happy, I saw my entire immediate family, that hasn’t happened in 6 or so years, and honestly you’re absolutely right. It’s so easy to think about shopping and getting fat, but there are so many out there who would kill just to have the life I take for granted. Good post brother. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
It's a lot more personal when it happens close by, even if you didn't know the people who suffered the tragedy. Earthquake in China kills 300,000. It's a shame. A wacko murders cops in Dallas. A little closer to home but what's next in the news. Then another wacko murders cops in Baton Rouge in the parking lot of a store I hsve been in on a street I drive on. A lot closer to home.
