We have had the most talented team in the country or the last TWO yrs and it ALWAYS been mental mistakes bad play calling that have kept us from the N.C. and that lack of discpline can ONLY be blamed on COACHING MIchigan Please take him
Can we just stop playing the blame game. There is also this thing about the individual player's mental makeup and toughness. Players are human too, and I know of no human who doesn't make a mistake.
LSU ran into the best player in the nation playing at the top of his game. The defense was prepared to stop him, but not for four quarters. Once the offense failed to convert good field position into touchdowns at the beginning of the game, McFadden took over. The handwriting has been on the wall all season. LSU is a very good team, but they're not a national champion. Flynn is mediocre. Special teams are bad. Defense is good, but not great. They haven't dominated anyone since week 2. It's not all coaching. There are too many factors, really, to include in this post.
Yes I agree with you with most of your points. The defense was doing well in the beginning in containing McFadden, but somehow started to break down later on. I agree one critical component of the loss was the flat play by the offense (or they were outplayed by the fired up Arkansas defense) in the first half. The lost was due to the team , not all on coaching. However, I think Flynn is better than mediocre....B+ to A-.especially for his first season as a starter.
Let's not throw anyone under the bus. Let's be BETTER than that. LSU is 10-2 and headed for the SECCG!!!! :geauxtige
As much as you want to blame coaching yesterday I give them credit for 10 wins... Were there some questionable calls? Sure...but a senior reciever should know NOT to line up on the line of scrimmage when the second receiver is already there. A senior QB should NOT telegraph his passes, especially this late in the season. A defense as a whole should not allow THREE rushing TD's for over 50 yards in one game. I'm in no way blaming players for the loss but just pointing out that even though there may have been some coaching decisions that could have been better...they do not play the game. I couldn't be prouder of the way this team hung in there and made it the game it was.
The penalty was called on Early, but if you watch the play it seemed clear that Lafell was the guilty party. Early ran a post on the play, Lafell appeared to be the safety receiver and barely moved from the line. I don't know for sure but it looked to me that Lafell was supposed to be the one off the LOS and there for the check down. Not that any of that matters.
