Per Kevin and Ricky, Dotson will be starting at 2 guard. I wish I could be at the PMAC tonite.

In the pregame interview, coach Johnson stated that Green has only been able to successfully complete the last three practices and Dotson is still "gimpy".

I was at the game. I was pleasantly surprised by the offensive output from Chris Bass and Dennis Harris. Green looked to be playing with pain. Dotson and Ludwig looked like Freshmen in their limited minutes. Zack Kinsley looked surprisingly good. Storm Warren played tough defense and was much better on offense. Tas looked great and so did Bo.

Touche. How many games are you guys going to make it to, considering you guys live in the city/state?

The game is available to watch online on LSUSports.net, and I was able to catch up on the Tigers. I agree with LSUSUpa. Impressed with what Storm and Bass were able to do, but to some extent I kind of expected it from them. They are both very active bodies who just need refinement, so you're seeing what experience and minutes can do for them. I especially liked Storm Warren's improved FT shot. Bass was good on the Assist to TO play, still a little rough on the shot still (missed a few gimmees), but overall seemed more confident running the team.

I was actually more impressed by Dennis Harris. He really looked like a live body, who can get up and down the court, wasn't afraid to take it strong to the hoop and has a nice little shot. Nine points on essentially one half of play, with some nice dunks and nice touch on the FT line. Oddly enough as well, even though he's listed at 190-195, he looks a little heavier than CJohnson for whatever reason. Hopefully he can add a few more pounds over his career than CJ, but I think nevertheless, he's going to get some quality minutes this year.

Dotson and Ludwig looked like Freshman, but Ludwig has definitely beefed up. He's a little less fluid/quick out there than say Harris, but he played hard, boxed out, and he'll do the little things. He was a little nervous on his shot, b/c he's a better shooter than that, but it'll come with time. Dotson looked decent and didn't try to over do it. His shot still is coming along, but you can tell he's got a nice little bounce to him and was trying not to over play--he looked for his pass and showed he has a nice feel for the game. He hit a nice 3 pointer at the end and again, hopefully he'll get confidence as well.

Green and Kingsley actually looked a little rough to me. Green clearly has been out and played a little tentatively. He's got some size to him though, and their big man, Turner, who outweighed our frontline considerably didn't go off. Kingsley was active and I think with Farrer's injury, Trent knows that he's going to have to involve Zach more. Kinsley was active, but missed quite a few shots. He's a decent player though.

Overall, there are reasons to be optimistic. Indiana St though will be a much different challenge for the Tigers. A well disciplined team (like the Wichita St sort of teams that gave the Tigers such a hard time in past years) will set up a much different set of challenges in the next game.

Good job for the Tigers though on a first game, with a lot of players getting time. :geauxtige :bball: :geauxtige :thumb:

I'm going to make 16-18. I know I can't go to Auburn or Arkansas because my wife has a night class on Wednesday nights.

OK, so why can't you go? :hihi:

i just watched the replay, and i'm impressed from what i've seen. bo will hit a bunch more of those threes over the year once his wrist gets better. tas will be tas. and i think that green and maybe kinsley will be pretty good players before it's over. chris bass and storm warren and dotson are gamers. looks like we could also get some decent offensive production from the bench. we'll see.

i like to see that a lot of the newer guys play a bit more aggressive than guys in the past have. and our two big men (harris and green) seem to be smart players. i like this team.
