I thought I remembered more than one from him, but that was quite a few Rolling Rocks ago. Great to see him getting more PT and coming through. If we want to have any shot at faring well this postseason, we'll need him and QT to provide quality minutes. Martin is starting to come into his own as well and is that has been huge.
awesome game. great how the tigers turned around that mo in the 2nd half. great game by everyone, (except maybe cj). CTJ, PLAY STORM WARREN A LOT! LSU is SEC champ now. It is clear that this team will need storm to have a good shot at a run in the tourney. Give him tons of pt so that when the tourney gets here he is less of a liability of O.
boy that gillispie likes roadkill--- "Kentucky Head Coach Billy Gillispie On the last shots of the game ... "We wanted to get the shot Jodie Meeks got. On the defensive end we were supposed to switch and we didn't." I made a critical substitution during that 10-point lead, which ended up being the wrong guy. That's what got us in the position we were in, in the first place and it got us in the end. That was a mistake by me.” You have to listen and carry out your assignments in order to win." http://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticle.dbml?&ATCLID=3681412&DB_OEM_ID=5200
WOW. WOW. WOW. Had to watch the game late on DVR today, but wow, this team to use Coach Les Miles' term from the NC year's team... is resilient. Being down 10 in the second half, with 9+ minutes to go, in an arena where they haven't won for 20 years, and to come back is... well, a tribute to a few things... the New Marcus Thornton, the coaching of CTJ and a team of misfits who have new found confidence. Let's be clear, Marcus Thornton is an amazing player and players win games... what is nice about this team and which gives it a shot in any game is that when you have a player that can just take over a game, you have a shot. He scored when he needed to, and the fact that LSU can erase a 10 point lead with Marcus hitting 24 footers, takin' it to the rack and getting fouled, is a luxury (which I'm SO sad to say, is what will be tremendously hard to replace next season). But, the irony of that, and the emergence of the second point, is that Marcus and LSU won the game in the end, with a MT pass to Bo Spencer for a wide open corner three and another three to Tas' on a another pass from MT. MT as a team player, and other players having the confidence to hit shots, is due to coaching and confidence. Trent knows what to say, knows how to motivate without berating, and heck had the presence of mind to regroup the kids, make them run their offense in a hostile environment. Kudos has to go to CTJ and his staff for coaching these kids. Lastly, speaking of which, many of us have been complaining about the bench. That is the last thing I have to say, Terry Martin, Q' Thornton and Storm Warren were good today, if not very good. I've never seen Terry M play the kind of defense he has against UF and UK (ahem, uh coaching again?), and Storm Warren gave us all hope for the post season and the future. After all, a 6'6" 210-ish undersized PF held his own for moments against a McD A-A in Patrick Patterson, right? For those of you worried about next year's front line, let's not underestimate this kid from Monroe who almost didn't sign with LSU. He played inspired today. So, it goes without saying, but ... LSU is the outright SEC champion, and wow, who would've thought it. Certainly, not ESPN... but, of course they're writing about it now. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?columnist=forde_pat&id=3942463&sportCat=ncb Hot off the presses. :geauxtige:geauxtige:geauxtige LSU IS A BASKETBALL SCHOOL. 10 SEC TITLES. GALLOWAY, WILLIAMS, DERENBRECKER, AND ANY OTHER GREAT LA HOOPS KIDS... BE A PART OF THE TRENT JOHNSON ERA.
The game yesterday was unreal in Rupp Arena. KU has great fans and treated us great. I was surrounded by KU fans and not one bad comment from anyone. Hats off to the Kentucky fans, it's probobly in the top 5 games I've ever attended anywhere. Only bad part was the drive home in the ice storm.
Man did you see SW block that dunk in the 2nd half! ESPN gets on my nerves... I think we are a sweet 16 team and if we get there look for ESPN analysis to say i've thought all season LSU would be here
