It was too many, but that West Virginia pressure was fierce. When we were able to break the pressure, we had a chance for fast break points. Hopefully we can learn from this. Great, great win for this team.
There were a lot of turnovers against WV, but the fact that we were able to fight through that and still get a win is impressive. This makes two games where it looked like Gray is feeling comfortable. The kid can flat out play. As good as our bigs have been, I really feel like the guard play of Gray and Hornsby has been the difference. This team really seems to be coming together and I expect big things from them this season. I too remember the days of the "Deaf Dome," and I would love nothing more to see those days return to LSU.
The game was impressive last night, lots of potential and they have won a few games that they could have easily lost. I really didn't think they could come back against West Virginia at home once down by 20. Good teams find a way to win even if they don't play well. In this case it would be turnovers, you gotta credit West Virgina for their style of play, they played pretty well but couldn't shoot from the outside most of the night, they played like LSU this year at times. You gotta compliment the Tigers on playing well minus the turnovers.
I am still spoiled, as I enjoy watch this LSU team play and become better I was thinking of the Chris Jackson/Shaq years and how I miss those days at the "Deaf Dome," It was always fun watching those Tigers play, it was just awesome! It's absolutely crazy they didn't win a championship!
Those were some uber talented teams. When you think about the talent we had it's hard to believe we didn't make better runs into the tournament than we did.
They were 7-0 before the game, have a great coach, to get a win there was unreal. Great job, like I said before, they are starting to play better together.
Its amazing that they played as well as they did and won without Jordan Mickey!!!! Well, for the most part!
