30 point loss? I guess all those cupcake games didn't show much. Hopefully they can string together something better than this for what's coming up.

The way things look right now, Arkansas should be ashamed of themselves if they do not win (and dominate) the SEC West.

They just beat two top ten teams in the same week.

Utah got over half their points in the paint. Without a big man who can clear the lane, LSU will have to shoot lights out from the perimeter to beat good teams. They'll win a few, but this film is going to be a staple in SEC game prep for LSU. Chris Johnson is just too damned skinny.

My hope is we go .500 in SEC play. We lose to Xavier and finish at 20-11 going into the SEC tournament.

After tonight and finally playing a decent team I wonder if we can go .500 in the SEC.

We had 2-3 games against very weak opponents where we won by 2-5 points.

I'm sure coach Johnson will have them play better defense than we saw tonight it just seems we have very little depth.

Pretty good assessment. Honestly, my hope for LSU this season went awry somewhere around the aTm game. LSU struggled on the road, I coughed it up to inexperience. LSU struggled against Nicholls and McNeese, I coughed that up to maybe finally having some decent SLC basketball in LA. LSU beat a WSU team that didn't play up to par, I thought LSU made some of its own good fortune and defended the home court well. This game, however, confirmed my fear that LSU's schedule was WAY too easy in the beginning, and we'll struggle mightily to get to .500 in conference.

I think we all knew that this game was going to be the true test. I prematurely made the claim that LSU would be 13-1 right now and in the top-25 heading into conference play. They're 12-2 and around 45th (before tonight.) In basketball, that's not too bad really. But I don't think it'll get better before it gets worst. It's not outta question for LSU to defend the home court, win a few close games, and end up around .500. But OOC losses to A&M, Utah, Xavier (I'm assuming,) with wins against WSU and ULL (who I think will have a pretty good season,) is that enough to get in the tourney? I'm not making anymore predictions, lol. :hihi:

Baseball is about a month and a half away...

    Reality check.

Did Brady ever lose by 30?

expected the post play to go this way. but man if our backcourt cant stop penetration then game over.

really though shouldnt get too down about this one. on the road against a senior-laden team with one matchup from hell.

I agree with you. Not being able to watch the game, this may not have been the case but it seemed like the big guy took all of their attention. LSU had no answer for him and may have gotten soft on the perimeter because of trying to help out against him.

Definitely not going to worry unless we see a pattern of such bad play develop over time.
