If this is true, you're someone who is glad that Trent is going after guys like say, Eddie Ludwig or Matt Derenbrecker. I understand that, but to really win a NC (which should be the goal, of course), you need a few NBA first rounders to mix in with the solid 4 year players. I think that if you went entirely after 4 year players that played well together, I think you'd see some competitive LSU teams in the upper half of the SEC, that got to the round of Sweet 16 here and there (afterall, that's what a good mid-major like Wichita State or Southern Illinois does year in and year out). I think though, that Trent needs to show that he can land the Greg Monroe, DJ Augustin, out of LA. I think right now, his 2010 class seems to have good targets in the sights, but the likely signees are in the 3-4 star range and we haven't had a good early commitment. Not that the stars are all that important, but is he going to keep Langston Galloway for example (I'm not sure Langston is that NBA lottery type of guy) next year? We can't afford to lose guys like Monroe to Georgetown and we need to sign the best couple of players out of LA every year.

im pretty sure i was doing the opposite

dont get me wrong. ctj needs to get great recruits, but i particularly want him to go after high school to NBA or one and done guys. all things considered, i like the product on the court better if tasmin mitchell, ronald dupree and ricky blanton are playing as opposed to roberts, swift and randolph. you need to have a roster with a handful of NBA potential but they dont need to be NBA lottery guys (Kansas didnt have any did they?)
