Good game by the men after last year. I figured we would lose this game and I was happy it was close until Marcus Thorton got fouled from behind and it was not called and yet they call the foul at the other end which was NOTHING like the one that wasn't called. There is no doubt we lost this game by not rebounding the ball and gave Alabama more possessions at the offensive end but my blood is boiling after this one. I don't think there is anyone that now hates Alabama more than me after this year!:angryfire
Just got back. That was the worst played basketball game between two teams that I have seen in a long, long time. Our offense had little to no movement and obviously shot terribly. Get em back in the pmac and I suspect we'll play a little better.
Gonna be a lot of LSU SEC games like that this year I fear. I think we will be tough at home but on the road its gonna be bad. I do agree that Bama sure seemed to get all the calls today..
Didn't watch it, but looking at the stats, I'd sure say so. 16 foul calls for us versus 7 for them? They shoot a worse percentage, and their bigs actually didn't hurt us--so perhaps that's encouraging. It is a game on the road, and it's just plain tough to steal 'em on the road. It's the recipe to success in SEC, defend your home and steal a few on the road. Many folks predicted Bama to be up there, so a 6 point loss with the home court refs working against you isn't horrible. It appears that this team ultimately on offense is going to live and die by the three. We shoot 20%, when we normally shoot about 40%. Without Spencer/Thornton and others hitting from three land, it's hard for Tasmin to get untracked down low...
I chose to go and eat with my family after church and figured I wouldn't miss much. I'm glad I was right, but pissed because LSU lost...again. Oh well. We'll sweep Bama at Sewell-Thomas... :tigbas: :champs:
I had to drive to Church Point to work on my daughters car so I missed it all. I guess chalk it up to the home dog. Hopefully we play better on our floor. PS...see sig for a good time.
I heard from a friend who watched the game that there appeared to be a lot of "home cooking..." Anyone who watch the game have a comment on this issue?
Can definitely back up this statement.. This game was so frustrating to watch because LSU was getting so many calls on them and Bama wasn't getting **** called. Bama shot something like 32 free throws before the late fouls even began.. LSU had 10.. haha bigger homecooking than auburn in 04.
There were a few huge momentum changers that were hugely aided by the refs today (I DVRed it and just finished it). One was when LSU was down by 2, and Bama had the ball, missed the shot and Farrer had the rebound and a Bama guy jumped over him and Farrer dropped the ball, and Bama scored. The other was the big steal on LSU when Thornton (I think was handling the ball) was barreled down by a guy and no foul was called, and Spencer whiffed on the other end and was called.
the most boring close game ive ever seen. both teams suck. lsu doesnt value the ball. too many turnovers and just about everyone is to blame. its a road loss so not a big deal, but bama sucks, all they have is gee. the only nice thing i take away is that cjohnson finally looked somewhat like the better player he was last year.
