I've still got the video making re-learning curve going, and I've never tried to make a basketball highlight video before. Also, my DVR programming only caught As the World Turns, aka the second half. Anyway here are some highlights from the game:

meeks was shut down and UK got beat handily. i doubt they lost too many of his 40+ games so i think he's pretty important for them.

i would definitely consider meeks more important to his team than thornton. more of a knock on uk than thornton or lsu.

They lost to Virginia Freaking Military when he scored 39, does that count? I mean, I know it's not 40 and everything, but they obviously didn't shut him down and UK still lost to that powerhouse (first game or not). He scored 24 against us the first time (one more than Thornton) and we still won.

Yeah, without Meeks, UK might not have made the Dance. Oh wait, they didn't make the dance. They did get invited to the NIT though, so they made it to some sort of dance. That's the kind of dance where the fat chick with the buck teeth asks you if you want to go. Not always your first choice...

Seriously though, Meeks is awesome. And I like when UK makes the Dance. I just think that Thornton was huge in the clutch this year. He was the leading scorer in SEC play and was huge in all of our big games. Against Florida he had 32, against Tennessee 29, Miss St. (the second time) 38 and he had 23 against UK to clinch the SEC. Even when we played our highest ranked team (Xavier), he had 30. He showed up in all the big games and hit shots just when we needed him to throughout the year. Also, he got us a lot of rebounds and steals. And after all, he was the SEC Player of the Year.

We have a good team, but wouldn't have sniffed the tourney without him.
