That's a nonstarter. If that game were played now with or without a healthy Bo Spencer and our other walking wounded starters healthy that does not happen. Likewise the same team that got blown out by Utah would maybe be just above 500 in the SEC today. Teams evolve, mature and establish an identity over the course of a season. An important part of LSU's success lately has been the improved play off the bench even with the limited talent there. Likewise, other teams that started OOC play strong have really struggled in SEC games. It's not really an apples-to-apples comparison looking at the early season play of the team and how they're performing now.
This is a special team. My only complaint is they are going to make my 12-4 SEC record prediction look bad.
Yes, I've been noticing this too in recent games. One thing they absolutely must work on is free throws. Against better teams those are points that cannot be wasted.
Oh man. I COMPLETELY forgot about this game. I got caught up studying and didn't think about it until this morning. I aced the exam though. But LSU, I'm speechless, I'll leave it at that.
lets keep flying under the radar man! You mean you don't enjoy the fine linguistic abilities of Mr. Jim Hawthorne? I feel like Im there in person everytime I'm watching... there's no scoreboard, and I can't tell what's going on, but I'm there in person, feeling the rim shaking action in first hand! HAHA, jk I love jim, but it'd be nice to hear the score every now and again
no. again i FFWD thru 1:30 hr of ESPN just to see them show highlights without talking about the game at all.
You know, in football, when a team like Utah struggles to beat conference opponents AND loses some key OOC game(s), we all say they aren't worthy, but don't apply the same logic to LSU in basketball. Of course the two sports are different, but there are some similarities there. LSU's full resume will be considered and our team does have weaknesses. That said, its been quite a ride this season with promises of excitement to come. I'm pumped up about our basketball program. If Johnson can recruit, watch out! :tigereye:
