Right, LSU would likely pay him close to that if he would step down.

Please tell me there is no way he stays after all of this. Surely we are past the point of no return.

I can't see how Miles could be the coach next year based on what has transpired up until this point. Would be a very awkward season for LSU and media backlash would be dragged out even longer than needs to be.

A rebuild is inevitable. That is what the media is completely missing on when scrutinizing LSU for this decision (if it actually happens). The program is in a jam either way. OC/DC/ST all need new leaders. Steele was a bad hire, bringing Dale back was a shit show, and Cam is a less impressive mini me of Les Miles.

Might as well can Miles and overhaul the entire group.

I agree, plus one loss and it would start all over. I'm not confident we get Jimbo, I hope Alleva is covering all bases.

I wouldn't phrase it like that. While it's too late to keep Les now, I do think they would be strong contenders for the NC next year with Les. Les and Cameron are better coaches than some are giving them credit for. Harris is only a sophomore and deserves a break. Before this all went down, I though LSU would win the NC next year IF Harris continues to develop. Big if. I'm by no means a Harris fan, but his deep throws are a thing of beauty.

One unlikely scenario that could work for LSU is fire Alleva, interim AD and announce Les will retire next year and take over as AD. Team plays extra hard in Les's last year, recruits are reassured because they see stability, not crisis, and LSU makes their run at the NC.

Those advocating for Fisher should go back and read all the bitching about him in these very pages when he was here.

Trust me, Alleva will be the next one on the chopping block after he fucks this whole thing up. Hope I'm wrong.

I too thought LSU was a year away and next years Junior Class would be dominant. But Steele and our defense will lose us at least 2 games next season. I think Cam and Les are good coaches but not as good as they once were. Another thing I don't think people take into consideration is how the injuries at TE and FB affected our offense. But there are shit tons of teams across the country winning with injuries so I give no break there either.
