I've followed a lot of them, and many times, the hires are not that exciting. We need to be prepared that the hiring end of this debacle could be as messy and ugly as the firing end of it.
Yes it could be, but what I was referring to was the suggestion by some that the new coach is hired before the old one if fired. It very rarely happens that way especially during the season when your target is still playing in his regular season. ADs usually have a short list and put out feelers, but to have one signed sealed and delivered before the old coach is gone? That's just not how it works and it's unrealistic to think it does. You of all people should know that.
This is why the whole "I remember the Charlie Mac.." statements make no sense. Thinking LSU is going to follow the same path now is unbelievable.
Just a observation my friend. What so many warned about seems to be happening. The people entrusted with the decision are screwing it up big time and we already see the price we're paying. Would you feel better if I blasted you and the minions?
just fear like if you burned your hand badly on the stove when you were 6. Every time you think about or see a stove you act irrationally. Cant unlearn that response. Much better facilities, much better recruiting as a national brand, much better everything. LSU is polar opposite of Miami or Texas in its own unique way. No one in state to compete with in recruiting. 102,000 rabid coonasses. Success after losing the coach that gave us the blueprint. Not waiting a decade too long to make needed changes. We've already proven we can win with 2 slightly above average coaches -at the time- nabbing NC's. Neither was proven on a big stage.
