If you consider the fact that it has been three years since we've beaten Florida, Bama, or Ole Miss, there is a good chance we lose to them again. Auburn and Arkansas are improved and could potential beat us also. Given that, I think we could realistically finish with 4 SEC losses this year. That probably puts us 3rd in west. I think if I was a neutral observer and had to make a prediction I'd go with that.
I like the disrespect. It's good for the team. While the schedule is tougher and I expect another 9 win regular season I think what would be encouraging is just competing every week. Not many seasons have we had so few "off games" to recouporate.
And based on many of the interviews with the players since this came out, they have taken it to heart. They seem to be determined to regain the respect they came to LSU in the first place for. I think between their own determination and the fuel that keeps getting added to the fire we just might see an explosive team looking to make, not just a statement, but prove they are on a mission.
On Bill King this morning a caller from WVU called in and asked how he thought the Mountaineers would do down in Baton Rouge. His response was that LSU is the only team he could think of that could be in the BCS, or completely unravel. He picked us to win that game, said we just have too much talent compared to WVU. That made me think of how I feel about the Tigers going into the season, and before every game, I feel like we have a very good shot at winning every game. I know what it's like to NOT feel that way, and with the talent on this team, and the future talent coming in I don't see me saying "we have no chance" for a long time. So for all of those on this site that feel we don't have a chance in some games, or to have a successful season.........I am sorry you have to go through the season like that, because I have not in many years.
