In the past eighteen years, the media @ SEC media days has correctly picked the SEC champion only four times.
Why in the hell?? Every year people jump on that bandwagon. USCe isn't even worthy of SEC affiliation, IMO. never has been, never will be. Every year people on here pick 'em, and every year I bash 'em. So far, I'm winning.
 Yeah there were some gems in there... And for those that laughed off his spill response: Nailed it. :thumb:
Blah blah blah blah Thats all it is. With our D and special teams and an O that can ONLY get better, LSU will not finish 4th. Worst case I see is second.
Agreed. I was reading a few preseason assessments of us a few weeks ago(Lindy's, Phil Steele, etc.) and they all have relatively low expectations for us. I felt pessimistic at the time, but now that I think about it, there are a lot of reasons to be optimistic. The running game looked great in the spring game and is rumored all the time to have improved greatly. This is Chavis's second year in LSU, making his system more concrete so that our guys will learn it better. Our spectacular recruiting class from last year is another year older and those guys will be ready to step up(Shep, Montgomery, Ford, etc.). Our offense has a ton of weapons when you think about it. Our top 3 WRs are all 5-star recruits, and Ford and Ridley look great. JJ is another year more mature and hopefully more comfortable with taking chances. I think we look good. Also, I don't think Auburn is ready yet, either. Sure, Cam Newton was highly touted coming out of HS, but he hasn't played football at this high of a level yet, and he looked terrible in the Auburn spring game. He also is not a QB in the mold of Gus Malzahn's offense. I think we edge out Arkansas in our last game of the regular season for 2nd place behind Bama. Arkansas has a great offense, but nobody wins in the SEC without defense, and I think their D will be their achilles heel the whole year. I think we lose 3 games in the regular season and play in a bowl on New Year's Day again.
8 or 9 wins would be a blessing with the world's toughest schedule and with 8 or more wins, I think we stay the course.
