I received an email that said one of your sites was reporting Luther Davis is on campus right now. Have you seen anything about that? This is the only LSU site I visit... Oh, along with Will ??? can't think of his last name...deleted the email already.
Probably not accurate. However, Joe Barksdale is on campus and attending classes this spring. Someone probably got it mixed up.
Not sure if you're refering to Bama or LSU's campus. Luther Davis has gone on record as saying he wouldn't have went to LSU if Saban was still coach there.
If Luther Davis & Will Blackwell are on our campus, it is on an unofficial visit. They aren't on the official visit list for the weekend.
Per BameOnLine.com West Monroe defensive end Luther Davis is scheduled to be in Tuscaloosa this weekend, possibly with teammate Will Blackwell. Saban visited both LSU commitments this week, and Alabama had made the short list earlier this year for the duo. In the last couple of weeks, both have verbally committed to the LSU, but Davis enjoyed an in-home visit with Saban this week and sources close to him say he has agreed to visit. Whether he will or not remains to be seen because Davis can be unpredictable. Blackwell has been unavailable for comment, but he and Davis talked about visiting the Capstone together before their commitments. LSU is in a strong position to hold onto both players, so Alabama is a long shot at best even if they visit.
Update on McKnight for this weekends visit... Per USC Trojans: USCFootball.com The recruiting process is headed down the home stretch, and this weekend will have a major impact on the Trojans' class of 2007. Pete Carroll and his staff will host seven visitors on the campus of Southern California today. Among this very talented group are several prospects already committed to USC. However, it's an uncommitted recruit that will be the talk of the town. Among this very talented group are several prospects already committed to USC. However, it's an uncommitted recruit that will be the talk of the town. The most important visitor USC will host this weekend will be River Ridge (La.) John Curtis running back Joe McKnight. While McKnight claims a list of five schools under consideration, many believe this will be a two-horse race between USC and LSU. The 6-foot, 190-pound five-star athlete is rated the No. 1 player overall at his position. While USC already has two committed running backs in this class, McKnight's services have become very important to the Trojans. Labeled as high school football's premiere game-breaker, Louisiana's top player warrants comparison to one of the NFL's most dynamic talents – former Trojans' tailback Reggie Bush. While it's very unlikely McKnight will publicly commit to USC this weekend, a successful trip could solidify the Trojans as his top choice. However, with an official visit to LSU set for next weekend, there's an expectation of public and private thoughts on where the Trojans sit among his list of college choices. McKnight has already visited USC twice unofficially, spending a week in Los Angeles last summer. Joining McKnight on campus at USC will be his Army All-American teammates Chris Galippo and Everson Griffen. Fellow Trojan commits joining McKnight this weekend on official visits will be Aaron Corp, Michael Reardon, Marc Tyler and Marshall Jones. All four prospects missed taking their official visits Dec. 15 because their high school teams, Orange Lutheran and Oaks Christian, made the California Bowl State Championships. Four-star cornerback Anthony Gildon played in the California Bowl with teammates Tyler and Jones. While verbally committed to Oregon, Gildon will also officially visit USC this weekend. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound cover corner had a tremendous season as a senior. With 29 tackles and 10 interceptions, Gildon is adamant that his commitment to Oregon remains solid. Woodland Hills (Calif.) Taft four-star athlete Malcolm Smith will also visit USC this weekend. Smith has come close to committing to the Trojans on two occasions, with the most recent being at the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl earlier this month. However, Smith maintains a list of three favorite schools – USC, Cal and Notre Dame. While it's hard to see Malcolm – the younger brother of Trojan receiver Steve Smith – selecting Notre Dame over USC, his parents continue to make his recruitment interesting. Smith is being recruited by USC to play strong safety, while Cal and Notre Dame like him more as an outside linebacker. This weekend's visit will be his last, so the Trojans last impression may be their most important as Smith is planning on a signing day announcement. USCFootball.com will keep you updated on this weekend's visits and bring you interviews from each recruit next week.
Well, that certainly flies in the face of the article written on Tigerbait yesterday, that had both players quoting as saying Saban was "arrogant" and that they both discussed "about how they would beat Alabama the next 4 to 5 years" after Saban left....
Luther Davis & his family really dislike Saban. What a joke that they think he's coming to visit them & enjoyed his visit with Saban. By the way, it is confirmed he's not on Bama's campus.
$ATAN INITIATED THE CONTACT AND THAT IS FROM JT CURTIS! $aban has salivating about mcknight sinde he was a freshman, so don't kid yourself thinking $atan has been dreaming about Mcknight every night. The good news for Bama is that Mcknight is interested a little. If he goes there he will make the biggest mistake of his life!:dis:
If Joe wants to go to LSU, he's more than welcome, if he doesnt, it's his choice. I wouldnt be crying about it, just another PROSPECT. 5 star means nothing in my dictionary. Here are some examples of current successful players at LSU who were NOT 5 star recruits, some of which Joe can only dream about reaching their level: - Laron Landry (4 stars), regarded as the "BEST" safety in the country (First team All-America), projected as a top 10-15 pick. - Dwayne Bowe (4 stars), one of the best and most physical recievers (First team All-SEC), projected as a first round pick. - Ali Highsmith (ONE star), one of the best linebackers on our team, second team ALL-SEC. - Tyson Jackson (2 star), great D-Lineman, second team All-SEC. - Trindon Holliday (2 star), speed speed and more speed, I mean COME ON, catch him if you can!! - Black and Jean-Francois (both 4 star), both made the FIRST team freshman ALL-AMERICA!!) - Jacob Cutrera (4 star), first team freshman All-AMERICA!! The meaning is, you dont have to be a 5-star prospect to succeed in the college game and even the NFL, Im sure that some of our many 4 star recruits may become as good as the 5 star ones and even the best (Laron Landry). So Im not the least disturbed to see him unexcited about LSU. GEAUX TIGERS!!! And he may want to use some of Barksdale's (the 5 star BEAST from Michigan) common sense, he said about his decision to attend LSU not "tOSU", Ohio State's gonna play 2 top 10 teams every season, LSU's gonna play 4!!! That is media exposure!!
