Donald Trump once said "you show me someone without an ego, and I'll show you a loser." Not that trump is the end all but you gotta agree with him here. I think that is the case here. He probably doesn't show an ego but everyone has one. I think he's enjoying recruiting......I know I would be.

Doesn't that remind anyone of Keiland at the time he struggled to decide on the school? I think for him with either school he would do just fine in terms of national exposure and future. I suspect he is drawn to California which can be refreshing and exciting if he hadn't travelled out of the state much to see the rest of the country. I am sure he will also try to assess which place / coaching staff/team he would be more comfortable with playing football. However it all boils down to family and friends if he were to pick LSU.

I think he is only checking his options as he has nothing to lose. Sometimes you get a better perspective on the overall picture which can help him decide. I doubt Alabama is a serious contender.

Joe does not open up to anyone in the media, not even to other players. He is only close to JTC, family, a few classmates, and Chad Jones. There is no way Joe would have enthusiastically described a first meeting with any coach.

whats the deal with all these La (and more specifically BR) players having such a tough time making decisions? ok, i know we dont really know if they are having a tough time, some just like to string out the attention, but this is not your father's LSU. i could always understand players leaving the state when LSU wasnt all that, but now, in general terms, there is no better program. 5 star guys shouldnt be worried about pt. are they not LSU fans? is it often a black thing that i wouldnt understand? (i know that when i was there in the '80's that most of the black fb players fathers were not LSU fans before their kids went there of course). are they picking a system?

I've said this before and it's true of all fan bases: Many of us have grown up attending LSU, parents attending, going to games........just loving LSU. Many of these kids aren't brought up in the same settings. Many worry about how the electricity bill is going to be paid and making ends meet on a day to day basis- much less going to college games, wearing the purple and gold, etc.

It's a different world and I never understood it until working where I do and seeing first hand. Unfortunately, too many of the kids in Louisiana are in "Survival" mode and as far as what they are exposed to, don't much look past their high school experiences.

That's why I never assume a prospect from La. will be "Landed" on loyalty. What has helped is that LSU is an elite program so in that case, high school kids hear about our program when we are having so much success. I remember when Dallas was so dominant, I was in a middle school- 5th through 8th- I'd see kids at school with Dallas caps, jackets, etc. and most other than the quarterback and receivers, couldn't tell you who was on the team.

Guess it's just the way you interpret it.

So you're upset/get bad vibes about McKnight because he said Crowton was "very nice"??? What did you want him to say?! "Coach Gary Crowton was FABULOUS and I want to have his love child!"????

"Very nice" isn't a bad thing for crying out load. He could have said Crowton was simply "nice"....and he could have said nothing at all.

And it may just be me, but when he says that Crowton would "help LSU get ahead", I took that as a possible hint--as in: "I think he'll help LSU get ahead on my list"...

exactly, he is a HS kid and while it would be great to have him, it isnt' worth it to make all this ado about it. If he wants to go play with lil nicky and get beat by the Tigers every year then let him. Remember Brock Berlin and all the other "5 Star" blah blah blah. I agree with the other post, he is either a Tiger or Tigerbait.
