First of all, let everyone take this for what it is, something his girlfriend told me. I'm attend LSU as of right now and last night I met Danny's girlfriend who plays volleyball at Texas State. She found out that I went to LSU and one thing led to another and she said she use to date Danny, and still semi are. She told me that he wants to switch to corner back completely, and if he does switch to corner and starts, he's seriously thinking about going to the NFL after his junior year :insane:. I kinda just looked at her like she was crazy but she was telling me about how said that it would "show his versatility" and how it would really help him get drafted. I know this isn't official news, but it's probably just as reliable as anything we read on the internet :yelwink2:. I know many people thought that McCray was one of our weaker defensive backs last year so do any of y'all actually see him going through with this and leaving school early?!
i don't think he is a good enough cover guy to play corner,but i don't think he deserved the bad wrap he got as a defensive back last year.he did make some plays,and every defensive back is gonna get burned at times.
Personally, I think I'd believe something I read on the internet over some chick who claims to be "semi" dating the guy (which I think we all know what that really means).
I can't remember where (or if it was reliable), but I did hear something about McCray possibly moving over to CB. However, IMO, if that happened it would be a desperation move by the coaches, because McCray just isn't a cornerback - he doesn't have the hips or instincts for it. This has been what has hurt us with him at nickel back - he's good at stopping the run, but he can't hang with a WR one on one (which is why he's a Safety).
