Many things can and did contribute to this team loss. This game is the perfect example of LSU playing not to lose. It has gotten wins thus far so no need to fix what aint broke, or so the mentality was (guilty as charged). I would have preferred to lose in regulation with a 2pt conversion attempt than triple overtime. But that's just me, showing my lesticles  .

Give it a little time, the sting will grow less. No need to single one guy out of a hundred :thumb: .

    Later,

Ill say it again. It comes down to pressure. McCray isnt a true cover S, he cant be expected to cover a WR or RB all day long. Also, as I said before, if he cant do the job then someone needs to replace him. Its on the coaches, not the kid. He is out there playing his @ss off and is a solid player.

I think McCray is going to be a good safety, but it's on both the coaches & the player. He is at fault for being out of position at crucial times, but coaches have put him in a position he isn't built for.

McCray is at fault, but ultimately if he cant do the job the coaches should change the scheme or put someone who will do the job. McCray isnt a horrible cover safety, he just has trouble when the line cant get penetration and the QB has all day. Ive been saying Jones should be in there or use Eugene to get him more experience. I think it boils down to pressuring the QB like we did in the first few games then abandoned.

The flag was thrown on Doucet but it was Lafell that lined up wrong. If you watch the replay you will see his frustration when the flag was thrown. But this was a team loss. The defense did not play well in the second half and the offence did not play well in the 1st half. If we get the 2 touchdowns in the first half instead of the field goals Arky has to run a different offence the rest of the game. If we blitz Dick when he gets under center he never gets any confidence. If WE BLITZ ON A 4TH AND 10 WHEN THE GAME IS ON THE LINE WE WIN!!! But hey we still are playing for an SEC championship and chance to finish in the top 5 again. So :geaux: :geaux:

No guarantee we would win but we would have had a much better shot. I rather play to win, rather than play not to lose. I HATE all that conservative BS.

A bend but dont break D has absolutely no place in football these days. Especially in the SEC with all the high quality players you are going against. Had the D been called like it was against Va Tech I really think LSU would be undefeated right now.
