I truly do not believe that is what or has happened. I assume their was not enough seperation at practice to make it a slam dunk. However, as a fan, we all have the memories of blown coverages and the tip to Harvin in our mind...and it hurts. We do not have those images of the other guys. So, as fans it is hard to forget, same for Jarrett Lee. Unfortunately for McCray, untill he gives me some great plays to remember, In my mind I still see him doing a tip drill to Harvin, or getting beat in the end zone....etc. It's probably not fair, but hell, life is not fair......USC recruiting with cash is not fair, being born in Arkansas and being a razorback fan isnt fair.....etc. etc.
That was Coleman. McCray has never looked good or comfortable on a college football field. Hopefully for all concerned that this is his year to shine.
I will go with this line of logic. Overall it isn't a big deal like it used to be. I will trust Chavis to have the best on the field that gives him a chance to succeed and even flourish as our new DC.
I was at the National Championship game, and I think you are correct (it was Coleman). I think the comment about McCray is very strong and hurtfull, while at the same time being funny as sh%*(.
Well if you have some film footage of McCray being effective for LSU, please submit it by all means. I hope he blows it up this year. He will obviously have that opportunity.
Me thinks you read that wrong, but I knew that might happen when I typed "starting with game 1." I didn't mean starting as in depth chart placement. I meant starting as in beginning with game 1... Now relax and dance a little...
At least we know Chavis doesn't have a problem running with a youngster despite any incumbents...i.e. Eric Berry took an upperclassman's spot...Mayo was a 4-year starter, and since Tennessee has done well in putting out NFL defenders there are probably several more under his watch. Trust The Chief until he gives reason not too...
I seem to remember being concerned about Hookfin and he turned in a pretty danged good senior year. I think that McCray deserves the benefit of the doubt and if it is close in practice then it will probably turn out OK.
