If a head coach doesn't know what a player/kicker can do this late in the season? I was watching the game with a college coach and we talked about this during and after the game. The "talkng heads" wouldn't get an interview with saban telling the truth. Remember, a good coach puts his players in the good position to "win" the game. Les had a great gameplan, did you see this?
Saban's also the weak link because he attempted 2 field goals longer than his kickers season best, when he should have punted and played field position.
the worst was having that light footed "short" kicker try a 49 yarder it almost gave LSU 7 points the other way on that block but no one questions these things, do they?
play calling mainly Jefferson and Ford should have run the option until Bama couldn't stop it. They were never going to stop it. The worst play calling of the night was having Ware run it 3 times and only get 8 yards with 2 minutes to go in regulation. Ford was sitting on the bench and Saban was thanking the Lord that was the case. Otherwise, LSU wins it in regulation.
Along those lines............. Alabama football notes: Saban prefers NFL overtimes, looks forward to working with Dee Hart | al.com
Let's not forget that someone on our D was bearing down on him at full speed when he threw that ball, so he had to loft it.
That was pretty stupid of him to say one mistake would not cost you the game in an NFL playoff situation. What about a turnover right after getting the kickoff?
Saban reminds me of the Russian hockey coach from "Miracle" in that when the games drawing to an end, and he's losing, "...he doesn't know what to do!"
