Sounds like SOMEBODY'S been watching the 24/7 show on HBO! :hihi:
Like Manny Pacquiao, the Filipino Lunatic. I don't think that's his official name but it fits.

I must have missed all of Maywethers trash talking because I never got the impression he was a loud mouth. But like I said, I dont pay as much attention to boxing as I once did.

Tirk is right about the small mexican/central american boxers. They always give the best fights with the most action. I've never been gung ho on the heavyweight division outside of an occasional big fight or two its generally boring boxing and has been for a lot of years.

And that Pacquiao...WOW..that dude is a brawler. Every time I have seen him fight its been GREAT!.

Another thing Tirk is right about is live, big time, boxing. I will never forget the only big time fight I attended back in 1980 between Roberto Duran and Ray Leonard in the Dome. The electricity before that fight was incredible. The under card was also good but as everyone waited for the main event the entire dome was literally buzzing. Then when the boxers finally came out a huge surprise appeared when Ray Charles comes out to sing the national anthem (he actually sang America the Beautiful instead though) and the noise level when into the stratosphere. Then to have that historic "no mas" ending, it was a night I still remember vividly to this day.

i saw that 2 weeks ago. 54.95 or some crap. i can justify it with friends on ufc since you know you'll get more than 1 round due to many names. not in this case. ridiculous. no one cares about the undercard in boxing because no one knows who the hell they are anymore.

Yep, I'll be in a sports bar, hopefully a Latin American one, so I can cheer for my boy Mayweather Jr.

And yea DRC, dude is a HUGE trashtalker. Holy heavens, it's non-stop. Love it or hate it. At least he backs it up.

This guy makes Joey Porter, Ocho Cinco and T.O. look like choir boys.

That's so true, though at least he's PAID to fight guys, unlike Porter. :hihi:

I'd love to have him mic'ed up for a fight, though I imagine it would get uncomfortable after 3 minutes or so.

The non-stop trash talking is part of boxing, though Jr. isn't doing it as well as the great, classic talkers like Ali. Of course, the vernacular has devolved sufficiently that I guess you could say he's the Ali of our time. Well, maybe not. :hihi: But absolutely the best boxer of our time.

I respectfully disagree w/ you. The best boxer of our time is/was Roy Jones, Jr. Don't let his last few fights taint his career. The Michael Jordan effect.
