That's kind of an arbitrary way of looking at it. Arkansas is the second-to-last SEC team to play. Are they the second best team? I'll grant you that simply saying 10 wins isn't whole perspective. But ignoring a 10-win season isn't whole perspective either.
I mean mediocre absolutely, not compared to what we would have with a competent coach. All I'm saying is that people around here don't know what we've got, even if it is unsatisfactory.
we have 9 wins. so theres not a 10 win season to ignore. i said bowls are generally in order of importance. however you slice it, we're sorta the bottom in that category at this seasons end.
I think most people around here know that every year that goes by with 9 or 10 wins and no victory vs the gumps is a bitter sweet if not mediocre season. That also means no W vs the gumps likely = no SEC champs. That is the point every year IMO 1/2 on the list is win the SEC and beat the gumps.
We have 9 wins because we didn't play the first game. That's a 10-win season in my book. I don't get what the point is that our bowl is the first played. We've had a mediocre game because we played on December 29 instead of January 1 or 2?
I get that, but bitter sweet and mediocre are two different things. I'm not saying our season was satisfactory; I'm saying it was better than mediocre. I care about beating 'Bama and all that. I just think calling this season mediocre is inaccurate.
no we are a sorta mediocre sec team at seasons end with 9 not 10 wins. and we arent undefeated in regulation either.
In the past, bowls were definitely scheduled in the order of importance, but it seems that has all flown out the window with the weird NC semi-finals being played yesterday on NYE, leaving many, many less important games to be played today and tomorrow. It's certainly anti-climatic, so no, LSU was not the "worst" SEC bowl game.
relatively speaking. lets not argue semantics. we arent in a good bowl, people. and we dont have 10 wins. and we arent having excellent qb play in our lifetimes.
We played an unranked team in the bowl. You're not playing a major bowl if you're playing an unranked team.
