Gasol is awesome. I always liked him. His versatility is his best attribute.

Very smart player. Fits in perfectly with the Lakers scheme.

More importantly it opens up Odom, who has gotten a TON better.

But the most overlooked move this offeason was Derrick Fisher. That guy is incredible.

Plus the Lakers have the best bench in the league. It will be almost Suns like to see how Bynum fits in when he comes back to the new open style of offense the Lakers have. They didn't run much triangle tonight.

Im really concerned about the Spurs now, and I still think the Suns are better than most think, but a little worse than what the Suns think of themselves.

    i've heard that, too.

and if it's 50/50, they need to sit him.

they can win it without him.

his future is far too bright.

I think he can come back in the playoffs if they need him, but the injury date keeps getting pushed back. Honestly, he will only be really effective if he comes back in time to work with the new guys. If not it is probably better he makes sure he doesnt hurt his career being that he is so young.

The GM is RC Buford, but everybody knows that it is Poppovich the guy that runs the show.

I agree that these trades made both the Suns and Mavs weaker, which is good for the Spurs and Hornets. I thought this was interesting:

It seems to be working tonight. In Shaq's second time out he's got 14 Rebounds and they're holding the top team in the league to under 70 with 2 minutes to go, not too shabby.

    4 points...

you don't trade Marion for a guy who gets 4 pts.

if you want 4 pts and 14 rebounds, then trade for Ben Wallace. It's a lot less expensive than Shawn Marion.

But the point is they didn't need the points from him tonight and won't on most nights. Shaq is making Stoudamire look like the MVP, just like he does wherever he's gone in his career. Will he have the motivation come playoff time...who knows? But I think he is a better fit short term (this year) than an unhappy Marion who was supposedly wanted out of Phoenix badly.

    agree to disagree.

your post makes sense. I just know from coaching basketball during summers that chemistry in basketball don't mean a ton.

Who is "happy" and unhappy" means nothing.

Ex: Shaq and Kobe won 3 titles "unhappy".

Jordan didn't get along with any teammate he ever had.

T-Mac was pissed the Rockets traded Bonzi Wells, but he has dominated 2 nights in a row since it happened.

Marion is a F/A this summer and wants a max deal. How better to do than, than to dominate in the playoffs? he would have tried like hell for them, happy or not.
