not sure why but that is their stated intention. maybe they are just smoke screening.

and that is a nice 4some to work with in a weaker conference

Stackhouse had said that he wanted to play for the Spurs. Can't remember where I heard it though. Think about this guys, Phoenix traded their only player that could defend Tony Parker and Dallas traded the one guy on their team that consistently killed the Spurs and was also able to stay with Parker.

This trade hurts Dallas in so many ways and it helps the Nets. If they could only get rid of Carter know I would start pulling for them in the East. Clair you forgot to add that the Nets get 2 first round picks plus $3 million dollars.

they do, but a 1st round pick in the NBA isn't worth a ton imo.

even though, I guess it's becoming more and more valuable now that players actually have to play a year of college, so there are more "NBA-ready" players each year in the draft.

I de-value draft picks, but 2 of the Rockets key contributors were taken from the draft this season, so I should stop the hatin'. :)

Nets will end up getting 7 players and that's just ridiculous for a 35 yearl old. I agree that they're not worth a lot but any time a team has two first round picks like the Nets will this year, it increases the chances of drafting a better player.

    nah.

ESPN reports the Mavs will sign someone off the street if they have to, to complete the deal.

The Nets don't want George. They just want George's contract.

So now three teams have stepped up in the West to try and get an "edge":

    1) Phoenix
    2) Los Angeles
    3) Dallas

Will be interesting to see what San Antonio does (I think they now need to make a move).

I doubt any of the other 5 teams will make a move (Utah, Denver, Houston, Golden State, New Orleans).

rumors say Houston is coming up with a package of Mike James' fat contract and others to get Mike Miller (T-Mac's best friend).

    We'll see, though.

The issue the Spurs have is outside of Parker and Ginoboli, they literally have no one under 30 to part ways with that anyone would want.

Is that the Miller dude from Sacramento? If so, he's a good player. If it's the other Miller I am thinking of (dude looks like a retard), then that makes no sense.

it's the guy from the Grizzlies. The ex Florida Gator

I guess he looks like a retard??

I do know he is on the US Olympic team and averages 17 pts per game, though, and is a 44% 3-point shooter.
