I think this is a horrible deal for Dallas.

Kidd and Malik Allen for Harris, Stackhouse, George, Diop, Ager

I think it's bad for one of two reasons.

    1. Kidd is about to be 35.

    2. The reason Dallas was always so good is because of their depth. They came at you in waves. If you shut down Dirk (or if Dirk choked), then Howard played well. If Howard didn't play well, then Terry killed you. If Terry didn't play well, then Stackhouse, then Harris and so on and so on.

They are far, far, far thinner now.

This is how the East will become the supreme league again, though.

3 teams in the west that are legit contenders now won't be in 3-4 years.

    1. Dallas
    2. San Antonio
    3. Phoenix

unless they get younger in the offseason.

Exactly what I was going to say. Dallas has truly f -ed up there roster now.

They gave everybody away. They will have no bench now.

Awful, awful, awful, trade. If you thought Pop and the Spurs were mad at the Grizzlies they have to be equally happy with Dallas.

They felt so obliged to make a move when they didnt really need to. Getting rid of Harris will haunt them as he entires his prime in two years. Kidd will probably mention it as he is working ESPN's fastbreak edition at midnight.

Yea, but it is almost a trade off, those 2 years waiting on Harris,
Dirk will be wasting away. for he is quite slow now and scared to play in the post and dont even mention his defense. I dont know how he won MVP last year.

I'll take Paul over Harris but essentially yes, they traded away a young fast point guard in Harris, a scorer in Stack, the only inside player they can rely on in Diop, a player in Ager that might have materialized but doubtful, plus 2 draft picks and $3M. All of that for a 35 yr old Kidd and a 6 pack of Heinies.

    Ridiculous.

here is the logic (spin) going down here in DFW.

Stack says he'll be back, he has to sit out 30 days per league rules

Diop is in the last year of his deal

Devean George is in the last year too and he sucks

    Ager is a throw in

The draft picks hurt the most (along with lack of depth and center help).

They are betting on winning now and they damn well better b/c this might be your early 90s Mavs in 2-3 years.

Lots of negative talk about Harris and they couldn't wait on him.

why are the Nets buying out Stack?

They can make the playoffs and make a run, too.

I like a core of Harris, Stackhouse, Carter, Jefferson in the East.
