Does anybody else have concerns that if Mett is as great as all are predicting, that he should have been able to beat out two mediocre QBs ahead of him? I'm just saying.
Mett could have beaten out JJ and JL with one hand tied behind his back. He was not given a chance for that to happen. Les had a man crush on JJ. As early as last Spring, Miles spewed some shyt about Mett not knowing the offense as well as the other QB's and needing to go with their experience at the position. Crap, crap and more crap. Mett probably ran a more complicated offense than LSU ran last season in the 7th grade. I assume he learned our "intricate" offense in less than 2 weeks. Mett not playing last season has everything to do with Miles being stubborn vs putting the best QB on the field. IMO.
i agree with this. it seems to me clm was willing to put the best players on the field, except at qb. lets not forget that mett was beating aaron murray out for starting qb as a freshman at georgia, and murrays turned into a pretty good downfield thrower. just writing that conjures up memories of jj proficiency as throwing threat, or lack there of. for the life of me, i have no idea why clm had so much love for jj!!!
I like liggins. I think he has talent. But looking at highlights I think he needs a lot of work. He needs to drop some weight. He looks a little sluggish and lazy throwing the ball. Release is inconsistent. I think it is because he e was so much bigger than the competition. I think the same thing happened to j. Russell, but he never overcame that laziness. I think liggins can develop into a quality qb, but it will take 2-3 seasons to get him there, just as it should take 2-3 seasons to get Randall and rivers SEC ready. I see liggins as a work in progress.
i watched the highlight film and saw liggens run the option and thought...yes, our future 3 year starter! naw, actually i went to the bathroom and threw up.
