in Dallas. I think they called kyle orton and he said no thanks. Former LSU quarterback Matt Flynn is getting one more shot at the NFL, and this time the call came in from Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys. Flynn is reportedly one of three free agent quarterbacks that the Cowboys will work out on Tuesday as they look to find some depth with the injury to starting quarterback Tony Romo in this weekend's win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Romo suffered a broken left collarbone, and the Cowboys are now looking at placing him on the injured reserve/designated to return list, meaning no practices allowed for six weeks and he can't play for eight weeks. Brandon Weeden, the lone other quarterback on the Cowboys roster, will take over the starting duties moving forward, but with Romo likely out until Thanksgiving, Dallas is left searching for another quarterback to add to the roster. ESPN's Josina Anderson reported that Flynn, Christian Ponder and Josh Johnson are being brought in on Tuesday for a workout. Flynn signed with the New York Jets following the injury to Geno Smith in the preseason, but was released on Sep. 5 when the Jets decided to move into the season with Smith, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Bryce Petty at quarterback.
Matt Flynn will always be my hero for leading the Tigers to the national championship over Ohio State. This guy has life by the arse. He's married to a Miss Louisiana, looks just like Matt Damon, and made millions as a backup for several teams based upon the record setting performance he had in one game in relief for the Packers. Life is good.
