I think many of us see, after your performance tonight, what the coaching staff has seen in you all along. I was a hater and stand corrected. :geauxtige
I don't. I've been fair all along, and Flynn had a great game. The two are not mutually exclusive. He really stepped up tonight, and this may have been a breakthrough game for him as our QB. Kudos to him, the o-line, and WRs for GENERALLY getting it done (in other words, I don't much feel like talking about any QB pressures or drops...some of those were Flynn's fault, some the WRs.)
I think we saw tonight what the coaches have known all season long, that ball security is an issue with RP and that is why he doesn't get more reps.
I don't think you need to apologize. MF has been struggling, to say the least, and needed to play better. Tonight he did just that. He had an incredible 2nd half. So did the WR after the LaFell interception. But Flynn needs to keep it up for us to have a chance. Especially with our defense going in the tank the last few games.
The impressive thing about Flynn is that he kept his composure all the way to the end, despite the frustrating receiver drops and turnovers. That's mental toughness. The bomb to Byrd was a perfect pass for the long gain, and also the perfect pass to Byrd was the winning toughdown.
With Doucet back in the line up it seems, although we sputtered a few times, but it seems as if we are now starting top click a lot better again. I hope this was the start of big things in terms of getting back to early season form. Now with 2 weeks off before we go to Bama... everyone can now get healthy again. I think we are only going up from here. Flynn looked great tonight...
Flynn looked great. Now that he gotten back his ability to run if he needs to, his throwing is better too. I still like RP too even though he was an overall negative tonight. And Doucet being back is really huge.
Flynn has been injured and obviously hobbled the last few weeks. Ever since the end of the VT game until last week he has been a little off on everything, throw in the dropsies and we are lucky to have gotten through with only one loss. This game and the VT game are good measures of what happens when Flynn is healthy. He has great throwing form and has very good acceleration when scrambling.
You hit the nail on the head. As for Perrilloux, imagine how difficult it is, to play a down or two on occassional series, never getting into the flow of the game, with everyone expecting great plays on every down. This kid should be awesome next year, when he is really able to establish himself.
