Matt Canada’s Terps jumping all over Texas

My wife is UT alumn. Since we got married I’ve always been a good sport and supported Texas (except 2008 College WS, Geaux Tigers and the next two years of opening weekend of CFB).

Texas is extremely overrated and overhyped. And it’s 100% because of Tom Herman. Media loves him. To prove my point in another thread you swap Herman and Orgeron, LSU is ranked higher and probably favored tonight and Texas would have gone into yesterdays game unranked.

Herman still believes he can turn any QB into a stud and ride him and that’s what he is trying to do with Sam Ehlinger. Herman’s success has been due to the talent of the QB’s at tOSU and Ward Jr at UH. He might end up being a good coach but he has to rid the Longhorn program of the entitlement and country club mentality 1st. That team lacks toughness and I’m not yet sure he is the right guy to re instill that.

 

Granted, not exactly a Strong statement, but Charlie is 12-2 at souf florida since leaving Austin. I've always liked Charlie and the evidence continues to pile up that our admin is not near a dumpster fire as that group in Texas. So if you ever really need to feel better about yourself, conjure up the image of a longhorn fan and smile.

 

I virtually was laughed at when I suggested we interview Strong. Politically it would have never happened, but I believed he’s a quality coach then, and he’s proving it now ( and did for 7 years at Louisville).

 

Both LSU and UT suffer from delusions of past grandeur. Their programs in all facets, athletic and otherwise are a bureaucratic hodgepodge of wannabe power brokers convinced they are too big to fail.
Watching these two teams play each other next season will be a battle between mirrors.

 

If it was just Oeaux vs The Boy Wonder mano a mano I would bet the house on Rosy Finch.

Does Herman have losing record?

29-12 (70.7% ) doesn't look like losing record. Seems to win his Bowl games too. Must be dat special Coonass "Eye" test.

2017 Texas -7-6 -Herman

2016 - Texas -5-7 Strong

 

Rosy Finch mainly attacks women.
