Agreed. In fact, he's an average NFL QB at best in my book.

I've never really seen why everyone was so giddy over him.

Yes. It included Stanford and Oregon. Thanks for noticing.

Don't want any. I would hope college football fans rally around the concept that the NCAA is full of shyte and is as corrupt as an organization can get.

    Slow your roll kitty kat.

    By index
Anderson and Hester have USC 12th toughest SOS, Oregon #13.
Colley Matrix has USC at #9, Oregon #8.
Sagarin has USC at #10, Oregon #6.
Massey has USC at #10, Oregon #4.

So while we did obviously have a quality win AT Oregon, it wasn't the only quality win. Only one index has our SOS outside the top 10 in the country. Winning on the road at Notre Dame was a quality win for us, particularly in light of the fact that we only brought 45 schollie players with us. Taking Stanford to 3 OT's was a loss but overall a boost to our SOS. All you need to do is look what happened to teams after they played USC. Andrew Luck never went over 200 yards passing in his last 4 games and he made something like 9 turnovers in his last 5 games.

We have a ridiculously young team with 17 returning starters next season. The biggest loss on D is end, Nick Perry. On O, it's LT Matt Kalil. Pullard, Bailey, Simmons, and Dawson are all returning at LB and 3 of them were Freshmen last season. TJ McDonald and Robey are returning in the secondary with TJ Bryant and Jawanza Starling in the 2 deep.

So, we'll see. Barkley's return is key. Woods and Lee are one of the best WR duo's around. Limit injuries, stay focused, it's good.

    You azz.

That concept the NCAA being corrupt as an organization can get hinges on those "polls" you're now referencing. They work or they don't?? I am in agreement with you on the corruption. I'm sure you know not all of those formulas are even disclosed. Unreal in terms of accountability.

Yeah I'll give you Notre Dame- almost posted that initially. As for Stanford though, "best wins" can't be "losses". Ask brdcstr.

We can use the final AP poll but I've seen USC fans embrace it some years and curse it others. USC beat one team in the final top 25.

Without going there a quick look at the records of the teams USC beat clearly shows it wasn't a world-beater SOS by a long shot. By comparison, LSU beat 2 teams with 11 wins; 3 teams with 10 wins and one team with 9 wins. 6 teams with 9+ wins.

    Minnesota (3 & 9)
    Colorado (3 & 10)
    Arizona (4 & 8)
    Arizona (4 & 8)
    Syracuse (5 & 7)
    UCLA (6-7)
    Utah (7 & 5)
    California (7 & 5)
    Washington (7 & 5)
    Notre Dame (8 & 4)

Sounds like you may have a small chance, then. :hihi:

Seriously, if you say you think USC will be legit I believe it on your word since you've always been objective regardless of whether it was favorable to USC of not. I also remember you telling me in week 2, I think it was, that LSU would play for a Championship and that our defense was sick.

Hope you keep us posted on USC affairs upcoming.

I agree. And the reason, is because USC has a much easier road to the national championship than an SEC team does. So these pollsters who don't like to be wrong about anything will take the safe choice. And let em take whatever, I don't care, I know USC can't beat LSU, or Alabama, and won't be able to next season either. So screw it, let em have their little suckfest, and when it comes down to big boy football, they will get put in their place.

People seem to forget that Lane Kiffin is their head coach.

The polls are BCS connected, nothing to do with the NCAA. I'm not a fan of the current system but I have no suggestion as to anything better other than for the creators to make their formulas available to the public.

Wasn't arguing it for a best win, but at the end of the season, Stanford's ranking elevated our SOS.

    True and true.

And I wasn't arguing world beater by any means nor did I bang on LSU's ranking AT ALL. I simply responded to your thought that our schedule "wasn't much". What is true is that all schools undergo the same schedule evaluation based on opponent's, etc, that USC's EOS SOS placed us in the top 10 nationally, LSU's EOS SOS placed them #1 across the board.

Yes, Doubtful Thomas, I did tell you in week 2 you'd be in THE game and that Matthieu was a nasty beast. I was wrong. Turns out he's as sweet as honey. :D

I do not believe we will start the season ranked ahead of LSU. Number one reason for that will be the final score in this season's NC game. But, as you said, who cares? It really doesn't matter where you start as long as you are within striking distance.

Sure USC can beat either team. Alabama is losing too much talent to make it past LSU next season so I don't see them as a factor.

Big boy football? Come on now. USC has been around long enough to understand the concept. What LSU and Alabama haven't faced this season is a QB of Barkley's ability combined with a WR duo of Woods and Lee along with the TE's. Heck, in the game against ucla, Barkley's first 5 TD's went to 5 different receivers. The trenches and depth will be a key point.

Lane Kiffin. Yes, I realize how hated he is. Still, consider that this season we went 10-2, beat ND and Oregon on the road, beat ucla by 50, had no losses in November and all of that despite our second season with no post season for the players to look forward to. He must know something about coaching. And he's not the only guy on the sidelines. He's not The Hat but he'll be alright.

    Happy New Year.

We played Arkansas' pass-happy offense with Tyler Wilson and his plethora of receivers, we played Aaron Murray with his receivers. They are BOTH better quarterbacks than Matt Barkley. We also beat Oregon, what's your point? UCLA? All those juggernauts out on the west coast can't get you ready for this sh*t brah. Kiffin and Barkley will both get destroyed. USC could beat LSU?? Really? REALLY?? I think not. Not big boy football, GROWN MAN FOOTBALL.

As far as Lame Kiffin is concerned....pfft...do you really think that he actually "runs" the team? If so then you should study the dude a little bit more. Why in the hell do you think he ran to get his daddy to help him? Because he knows jacksh*t about defense? Or because he knows jacksh*t about running a football team? Perhaps a nice mix of both? You'll understand about him soon enough I guess. He'll run your sh*t further in the ground just like he did in Oakland and at Tennessee.

    Happy New Year. :D
