Has 6 percent of the first place votes
Found on 26 percent of all ballots

    1. Luck (Stanford)
    2. Wilson (Wisconsin)
    3. Griffin (Baylor)
    4. Richardson (Alabama)
    5. Moore (Boise State)
    6. Robinson (Michigan)
    7. Mathieu (LSU)
    8. Lattimore (South Carolina)
    9. Jones (Oklahoma)
    10. Keenum (Oklahoma State)

Mathieu's biggest problem is that he appears on only 26 percent of the votes, as can be attested by the fact he is #1 on nearly 1/4 of those ballots. Appear on more ballots, move way up the list.

A game changing play by Mathieu on Saturday vs Florida puts him smack dab in the running for the award.

I'd not like to see a "game changing play" because that would mean it's a close game. I'd rather see his usual force a turnover and score contributing to the route.

middle of the 3rd quarter, LSU goes on to a 30-6 win

play occurs with the score 16-6 and TM7 does another strip fumble TD putting Florida out of their misery

I'm a little dismayed that LSU hasn't really pushed for a Heisman campaign. They failed to do the same last year with PP7. It's going to take a public uprising to get any real support.

Im praying that the voters make the right choice this year . Cam just was a one year wonder that all the voters fell in love with . Luck and Moore are 100 times better than newton . TM7 is the best Defensive player in the county . maybe the best player in the country . and he is only a SO. LOL...

Cam Newton most certainly deserved the Heisman. Cam Newton is on pace to become the first rookie QB in the NFL to throw for over 4000 yards and is actually on pace to throw for over 5000 yards and eclipse Dan Marino's NFL record. That's no 1 year wonder. Oh, he killed it in JC too and won a championship for Blinn College.

His stats were staggering with Auburn and he willed that team to win after win.

That to me speaks of Heisman more than any past champion.

Kellen Moore plays against 3rd graders.

Hate to say it but I agree SCam is the real deal . Scum bag for sure but a freak talent wise. TM7"Honey Badger" is just as much of a freak and if his year continues as it has so far no way he is not in the mix for the Heisman!:tigereye:

It was JC , thats like playing high school teams , Cam is talented don't get me wrong . I just don't think he was the best player in college football last year . He will be a good NFL QB , but he will NEVER be a Tom Brady , Joe Montana , John Elway , are Peyton Manning . I see him being like a Donte Cullpepper are Donavan McNabb , Big Arm and can move around in the pocket .
