Not surprising. As reported in the article, he and the Chargers GM never hit it off. Since he didn't get fired immediately after they exited the playoffs the situation must have deteriorated with all of the assistants leaving.
it's a good move in the long run, because LT's best years were being wasted away by a loser, but no way in hell do you do this so late. The new coach has no chance to build a staff, although im sure some good names will line up to coach the best RB ever, a beast TE, and one of the best LBs in the game.
That would be too funny. I wonder what Saban's new recruits would think about that if he bolted for San Diego!:lol:
So much for Bill Cowher taking a year off. I gotta think the Chargers will try to lure him in, unless they go the interim route. Then, try to hire him for next year.
The delay doesn't make a lot of sense, though they probably weren't assuming that they would lose both coordinators.
