    One of the good guys for sure. The NCAA should be shut out by the SEC, PAC-12,Big 10 and Big 12 and we will make our own rules!:tigereye:

    It is how high schools essentially do it. At least in the parish I'm in. There is a certain amount allocated for a particular sport. They get X and if they want assistants it comes out of that amount.

    The AD gets a mere $1,000.00. What they get under the table from booster clubs, quarterback clubs, etc. is something else. I even know of one school that would give their head FB coach a freezer calf. :hihi:


    As far as the rule. I have to believe it's to stop boosters from funneling money through the coach? Not sure if that even makes sense now that I type it but I'll leave it. There must have been some kind of abuse since that's usually what precipitates "rules".

    They need a committee (if they don't already) to oversee decisions like this to see if exceptions need to be put in place. It's like the BCS, you need some objective and subjective views to come to a decision.
